As Batangas City celebrated its 57th Foundation Day, the UB Indayog Kultura Dance Company, together with the University of Batangas Cultural Groups, added color and energy to the Sublian Festival Street Parade.

UB Indayog Kultura proudly brings the heart of Batangas to the stage at Gawad UBian 2026. Through every movement, rhythm, and story, we celebrate our rich heritage, honor our traditions, and showcase the passion and artistry that define our culture. More than a performance, this is a tribute to the Batangueño spirit—strong, vibrant, and proudly rooted in history.

The UB Indayog Kultura proudly performed Subli Talumpok at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception as part of the celebration of Nuestra Señora del Carmen on July 4, 2026.
The name Subli comes from the words "subsob" and "bali", referring to the distinctive movements of the dancers. Traditionally, it is a devotional dance offered in honor of the Holy Cross (Mahal na Poong Santa Cruz) and is performed during religious festivals as an expression of faith, gratitude, and reverence. Subli Talumpok is a variation of this traditional dance that highlights the rich cultural heritage of Batangas while preserving its spiritual significance through graceful movements, rhythmic music, and synchronized formations.
