Storytime: My Journey Finding Clients

When I first started as a virtual assistant, I was super excited. I trained, got certifications in medical billing, bookkeeping, social media management… I thought I was ready for anything.

But wow, finding clients was so much harder than I expected. I sent proposal after proposal, hoping someone would give me a chance… and most of the time, nothing. Or just a short reply that felt so cold. I felt invisible—like my skills and effort didn’t matter at all.

There were nights I almost gave up. I’d be refreshing my inbox again and again, hoping for a message, and feeling frustrated when there wasn’t one.

But each “no” or no reply taught me something. I learned how to show my value better, improve my portfolio, and just keep going. Every small step counts, and I know that the right client will come.

So here I am, still trying, still learning, and still believing. If you’re starting your own VA journey, just remember: the beginning is always the hardest, but persistence really does pay off. 💪
