Ambulong Elementary School officially opened the new academic year today with a smooth, organized, and meaningful first day, highlighting the power of collaboration among teachers, parents, learners, and stakeholders. The successful opening reflected weeks of preparation and a shared commitment to ensuring that all learners begin the school year in a positive and supportive environment.

The first day of classes, which formed part of the opening block, focused not on regular academic lessons but on activities essential to students’ holistic development. Instead of subject-based instruction, learners participated in orientation sessions, classroom routines, and interactive activities designed to help them get to know one another. These included setting classroom rules, establishing expectations, and engaging in psychosocial activities aimed at building a safe and inclusive learning environment.

The readiness of the school community was evident. Classrooms were fully prepared—clean, organized, and equipped with the necessary learning materials—offering a welcoming space for students. Teachers, who had diligently worked on preparations prior to opening day, confidently facilitated activities and guided learners through the transition back to school life.

“Classrooms are ready, teachers are ready, and this is reflected in the happy faces of our learners,” one school head remarked, capturing the spirit of the day. Indeed, the excitement and joy of students could be seen as they actively participated in activities, interacted with classmates, and reconnected with their school community.

Adding to the significance of the day, Dr. Leila Seco, Education Program Supervisor in English (EPS-V), conducted monitoring visits to observe the opening of classes. Her supervision ensured that schools adhered to guidelines and maintained quality standards in delivering learner-centered activities.

The most visible outcome of the day’s efforts was the learners themselves—smiling, engaged, and eager. Their happy faces reflected the success of the preparations and the effectiveness of the collaborative efforts behind the opening.

With strong foundations established on the first day, the school is well-positioned to deliver a productive, inclusive, and meaningful school year for all learners.
