𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟎, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 — In line with the announcement regarding the suspension of classes, 𝐒𝐭𝐚. 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 promptly implemented alternative learning modalities through Online Classes and Modular Distance Learning (MDL) to ensure the continuity of education.

Despite the sudden shift, learners remained engaged in their lessons, while teachers adapted, parents extended their support, and learners embraced the transition with resilience and enthusiasm.

The suspension of face-to-face classes may change the setting, but it does not suspend the pursuit of learning. In every circumstance, SCES continues to find ways to keep education moving forward.

On August 20, 2026 (Thursday), 𝐒𝐭𝐚. 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 will shift to Modular Distance Learning (MDL) in place of face-to-face classes.

As learning takes a different route, we remain committed to keeping education within reach—bringing the classroom closer to home while keeping our learners safe. 📚🏡

We encourage our learners and families to continue learning with patience, understanding, and support as we navigate this temporary shift together.

Alternative work arrangements at learning modes in the ENTIRE PROVINCE OF BATANGAS will be implemented tomorrow, August 20.
In Memorandum Circular No. 131 signed by Executive Secretary Ralph G. Recto, Malacañang ordered the implementation of appropriate alternative work arrangements in government offices and alternative learning modes and learning continuity measures in public and private schools tomorrow, August 20, as a preparation for the expected continued heavy rainfall caused by the storm.
The step is in accordance with the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) and due to the threat of localized flooding and travel hazards caused by the continuous rainfall.
Alternative work arrangements and alternative learning modes will be implemented in the ENTIRE PROVINCE OF BATANGAS.
Alternative work arrangements do not include agencies providing basic and health services, preparation and response to disasters and calamities.
Contract of Service (COS) and Job Order (JO) workers placed in alternative work arrangements will continue to receive their appropriate salary or payment, in accordance with existing policies and regulations.
Malacañang leaves it to the Local Chief Executives to decide if it is necessary to suspend classes in areas under their jurisdiction that are not included in the memorandum circular.
The private sector leadership is still in discretion regarding declaring a work suspension.
Everyone is being cautious.

Due to the continuous heavy rainfall, and in accordance with the assessment and recommendation of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), face-to-face classes from Preschool to College in all public and private schools, colleges, and universities in the City of Batangas are SUSPENDED tomorrow, August 19, 2026 (Wednesday).
Instead, Online/Modular Distance Learning will be implemented, in accordance with the existing policies and learning modalities of each school.

Instead, Online/Modular Distance Learning will be implemented, in accordance with the existing policies of each school and college/university.
The suspension is due to the bad weather brought by the Habagat.

Ngayong 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡, binibigyang-pansin natin ang kahalagahan ng kasaysayan bilang mahalagang bahagi ng pagkatuto at paghubog sa pagkakakilanlan ng bawat Pilipino.

Ang kasaysayan ay hindi lamang tala ng mga pangyayaring naganap sa nakaraan. Ito ay pag-aaral sa mga tao, pangyayari, kultura, pamumuhay, pakikibaka, at pagbabago na humubog sa ating bansa. Sa pag-unawa sa mga ito, mas nagiging malinaw sa mga mag-aaral kung paano nabuo ang ating lipunan at kung bakit mahalagang pahalagahan ang ating mga ugat at pamana.

Mahalagang matutuhan ng mga bata ang kasaysayan hindi lamang sa pamamagitan ng pag-alala ng mga pangalan at petsa, kundi sa pagtatanong, pagsusuri ng mga pangyayari, pagkilala sa mga ambag ng mga Pilipino, at pag-unawa sa mga aral na maaaring maiugnay sa kasalukuyan.

Sa 𝐏𝐚𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲𝐚 𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐚. 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐚, patuloy nating binibigyang-halaga ang pagkatuto tungkol sa ating kasaysayan upang mahubog ang mga mag-aaral na may kamalayan sa kanilang pinagmulan, may pagpapahalaga sa kultura at pamana, at may mas malalim na pag-unawa sa kanilang papel bilang bahagi ng lipunan.

Sa paggunita ng 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡, sama-sama nating kilalanin at unawain ang mga kuwentong humubog sa ating bayan—sapagkat ang pag-unawa sa nakaraan ay mahalagang hakbang sa pag-unawa sa kasalukuyan at pagharap sa hinaharap.
