Hammering Unity

TES strengthens voluntarism at Brigada Eskwela 2026 Kick-Off Ceremony

TABANGAO APLAYA, BATANGAS CITY β€” Mobilizing a massive wave of multi-sectoral teamwork, Tabangao Elementary School officially launched its Brigada Eskwela 2026 campaign with an energetic Kick-Off Ceremony, June 1. Guided by this year’s national directives to forge safe, resilient, and structurally sound environments for incoming learners, the opening program united teachers, parents, barangay officials, socio-civic groups, and local volunteers. Under the leadership of, Dr. Aileen H. Sobremonte, school head, the ceremonial started successfully set the tone for a week-long maintenance, sanitation, and school repair marathon aimed at priming the school community for the fast-approaching opening of classes. The kick-off began with an enthusiastic solidarity march around the community, signaling to local stakeholders that the season for collective school preparation had officially arrived. Following the parade, a short program was staged at the school's assembly area where school leaders laid out the strategic physical targets for the campus. Sobremonte stood alongside the general parent-teacher assembly to emphasize the theme of collaboration. By echoing the battle cry to collaborate to facilitate pristine learning spaces, the faculty actively inspired community members to pitch in not just through financial or material donations, but through hands-on volunteer labor. Immediately after the closing remarks of the ceremony, the volunteer networks swung into action, transforming the school into a bustling hive of restoration. Armed with hammers, paintbrushes, and cleaning gear, parent-led work groups fanned out across the school grid to patch up damaged classroom furniture, refurbish worn blackboards, and apply fresh coats of paint to the exterior walls. Concurrently, local barangay workers and civic volunteers focused heavily on grounds safety by clearing overgrown vegetation, flushing out drainage lines to eliminate standing water hazards, and anchoring structural fixtures to prevent accidents. This widespread community response effectively eases the non-instructional burdens typically carried by class advisers ahead of a new term. With the structural framework and sanitation procedures securely handled by community teams, the intermediate faculty can dedicate their energy to finalizing room layouts and aligning with the revised curriculum standards. As the first day of Brigada Eskwela 2026 wraps up, Tabangao Elementary School stands firmly anchored by its community, proving that when local stakeholders hammer together, they build an unshakeable foundation for the youth of Batangas City.
