Looking back on a meaningful and insightful day during the Pre-Employment Seminar held on May 7, 2026, spearheaded by the Career Development, Alumni and Placement Office. Graduating Lyceans gained valuable knowledge on local and international labor standards, employment requirements, workplace expectations, and essential preparations needed as they transition from campus life to the professional world.

The CDAP Office extends its sincere gratitude to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), PAG-IBIG Fund, PhilHealth, and Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) for sharing their expertise and valuable insights that helped equip our future professionals with practical knowledge and guidance as they prepare for their future careers.

Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, this initiative continues to empower students to become informed, prepared, and career-ready individuals.

Former SPES beneficiary Ms. Althea Danielle Guerra continues to make the Province of Batangas proud as she emerged as the Luzon awardee for the SPES Youth Achiever recognition.

During the 124th Labor Day Celebration held in General Santos City, she was honored with the SPES Youth Achiever Award, personally conferred by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.. Her achievement reflects years of perseverance, dedication, and commitment toward personal and professional growth.

From being a participant of the Special Program for Employment of Students to becoming a nationally recognized youth achiever, Ms. Guerra’s journey serves as an inspiration to many young individuals striving to reach their goals despite challenges.

Her success highlights the impact of youth employability programs in empowering students and young professionals to become future leaders and catalysts of change in their communities.

As signatures were etched in commitment and collaboration, LPU-Batangas and Megaworld Hotels & Resorts officially strengthened their partnership through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding held at the Main Campus, May 12, 2026.
The ceremonial signing was led by University President Dr. Peter P. Laurel alongside other university officials, and Cleofe C. Albiso, Managing Director of Megaworld Hotels & Resorts, together with Arturo P. Boncato Jr., Ederlinda F. Decano, Gracia D. Delos Reyes, Head of People Management Maria Loleth G. So, Mario H. Justo Jr., Socrates S. Alvaro, and Avinash Menon, formalizing a strategic academic-industry partnership between the university and Global One Hotel Group, Inc.
The collaboration will open opportunities for student internships and on-the-job training in Megaworld Hotels & Resorts properties, experiential learning programs, industry immersion activities, and the development of specialized micro-credentials and certifications in hospitality and tourism.
Anchored on the promotion of Filipino hospitality and culture, the partnership will also strengthen the implementation of the Sampaguita Project across LPU-Batangas campuses, reflecting both institutions’ shared commitment to sustainability, innovation, and transformative education.
The initiative further supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.

A partnership rooted in sustainability and Filipino pride officially took shape as LPU-Batangas and Megaworld Hotels & Resorts marked the opening of their collaboration through a meaningful Sampaguita planting activity at the Arboretum of the Riverside Campus, May 12, 2026.
LPU-Batangas was led by University President Dr. Peter P. Laurel alongside other university officials, while the Megaworld Hotels & Resorts delegation was headed by Managing Director Cleofe C. Albiso, together with Arturo P. Boncato Jr., Ederlinda F. Decano, Gracia D. Delos Reyes, Head of People Management Maria Loleth G. So, Mario H. Justo Jr., Socrates S. Alvaro, and Avinash Menon.
More than a ceremonial gathering, the initiative symbolized a shared commitment to environmental stewardship, cultural heritage, and purposeful partnerships that cultivate lasting impact beyond the classroom and industry.
The collaboration also reflects support for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 13: Climate Action, SDG 15: Life on Land, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, through collective efforts that promote sustainability, biodiversity conservation, and stronger academe-industry collaboration.
