Batangas State University successfully conducted the ๐ฝ๐๐จ๐๐ ๐๐๐จ๐๐๐ง๐๐ ๐๐ฉ๐๐๐๐จ ๐๐ง๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ค๐ง ๐๐ง๐๐๐ช๐๐ฉ๐ ๐๐๐๐ค๐ค๐ก ๐๐๐๐ช๐ก๐ฉ๐ฎ last March 26, 2026, at the Pablo Borbon Campus. Co-facilitated by the ๐๐๐จ๐๐๐ง๐๐ ๐๐ฃ๐ฉ๐๐๐ง๐๐ฉ๐ฎ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ผ๐จ๐จ๐ช๐ง๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐๐ฃ๐๐ฉ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฝ๐๐ฉ๐๐ฉ๐๐ฉ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ฉ๐๐๐๐จ ๐๐๐ซ๐๐๐ฌ ๐พ๐ค๐ข๐ข๐๐ฉ๐ฉ๐๐, this initiative aimed to equip faculty members with essential knowledge, ethical foundations, and practical skills in screening student protocols and guiding graduate students toward responsible and ethical research conduct.
Through interactive workshops, case analyses, and collaborative discussions, participants strengthened their ability to evaluate research proposals. The training also strengthened the universityโs commitment to maintaining integrity, quality, and excellence in academic research. With active participation from ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฒ ๐ฆ๐๐ฆ๐๐๐ซ๐ฌ, the program concluded successfullyโhighlighting collaboration, learning, and professional growth.

This training aims to strengthen ethical research practices and promote integrity, accountability, and responsible scholarship among students, faculty, and researchers.

ATM: 1st National Conference on Research Integrity
With international experts on research integrity, and over 300 participants from more than 40 institutions, BatStateU research administrators (Dr. Ana Pholyn Balahadia-Mortel - Asst. Director of RIA Unit, Dr. Gemar Perez - Head of Research Office Pablo Borbon) participate in the first-ever national conference on research integrity.
Sessions cover common integrity issues such as questionable research practices, authorship, predatory practices, and highlight institutions' efforts to promote responsible conduct of research.
Learning with and benchmarking from other academic institutions and research colleagues, the RIA Unit aims to share timely information and prepare more opportunities for Red Spartan community members to improve our knowledge, attitudes, and practices on research integrity.

We proudly announce and celebrate the successful completion of the 5th Batch of our Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Trainingโa continuing initiative to uphold the highest ethical standards in research across our Spartan Community! ๐คฉ
This time, 95 dedicated participants, composed of students, faculty, and administrators, came together on September 29, 2025, for another meaningful session highlighting our strong commitment to research ethics and integrity. ๐
This training, organized by the Research Integrity and Assurance Unit of the Office of Research Management Services, featured 11 esteemed speakers who shared relevant insights on responsible research practices. The participants were able to explore and delve deep into topics such as ethical research principles, informed consent, conflict of interest, plagiarism, and authorship, among others. The dynamic open forum provided a space for critical thinking and active engagement.
We extend our deepest gratitude to our expert speakers for sharing their wisdom and expertise, and to the Center for Innovation in Engineering Education (CIEE for generously providing the platform that made this event possible. We're thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of the 4th Batch of our highly impactful Responsible Conduct of Research Training! ๐
Another 254 participants ๐from the Spartan Community, including dedicated students, esteemed faculty members, and proactive administrators, joined us online on May 6, 2025. This reflects our University's unwavering commitment to fostering a culture of academic integrity and upholding the highest ethical research standards within our Spartan community.
This engaging online session, organized by the Research Integrity and Assurance Unit of the Office of Research Management Services, featured distinguished expert speakers who shared their invaluable knowledge on research ethics and scientific integrity. Participants delved into vital topics such as ethical considerations in research, responsible data management, the significance of proper citation, navigating conflicts of interest, and understanding the role of ethical review boards. The interactive open forum provided a fantastic opportunity for participants to engage directly with the speakers

๐ฃBatStateU's First Research Ethics and Review Application Workshop๐ฃ
Yesterday's event is another milestone in our journey to ensuring ethical research!
The RIA Unit held a workshop for faculty researchers to level-up their knowledge on research ethics and to familiarize them with the research ethics review process. From understanding ethical guidelines to mastering application procedures, it was an incredible learning experience for everyone involved.
We are very grateful for the active participation and openness of our faculty members and research managers to the ever-evolving practices in scientific and academic research.
We also extend our special thanks to our speakers: Dr. Myra A. Bersoto, Dr. Ana Pholyn A. Balahadia-Mortel and Dr. Richard M. Baรฑez, who shared their knowledge, experiences, and practical tips which made the workshop very fruitful.
