PUBLIC ADVISORY
In accordance with the recommendation of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), based on its assessment and in coordination with the DepEd Schools Division Office, face-to-face classes from Preschool to College are SUSPENDED in all public and private schools in Batangas City today, August 18, 2026 (Tuesday).
Instead, Online/Modular Distance Learning shall be implemented, in accordance with the existing policies of each school, college, or university.
The suspension is due to the inclement weather brought about by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

A Helping Hand Today Can Be the Hand You Need Tomorrow

PAGKILATAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL — The value of compassion and helping others was highlighted as an important lesson iwhich reminding learners that kindness begins with being willing to help those who are in need.

As shared in the school’s faith-centered reflection, Rev. Father Mikhail I. Sandoval, Parish Priest of St. Michael the Archangel Parish, reminds the community through the teachings of Jesus that we should treat others with the same compassion and kindness that we hope to receive.

Life can change very quickly. Today, we may have enough; tomorrow, we may be the ones who need assistance. Today, we may be strong enough to lift someone up; tomorrow, we may need a helping hand ourselves.

Jesus teaches us in Luke 6:31: “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” This simple yet meaningful teaching encourages learners to show empathy, generosity, respect, and concern for others.

At Pagkilatan Elementary School, learners can live out this value through simple acts of kindness—helping a classmate who is struggling, sharing school materials, comforting someone who is sad, assisting others in school activities, and making sure that no one feels alone or left behind.

Helping others does not always require grand gestures. Sometimes, a small act of kindness can bring hope to someone who needs it most.

Let us remember that the hand we extend to someone today may be the same kind of hand we will need tomorrow.
