𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐞-𝐎𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐬

The Master of Development Communication (MDC) program at Batangas State University, The National Engineering University, proudly announces the successful pre-oral defenses of its graduate students, who presented innovative and impactful projects addressing pressing societal issues.

Richard John B. Encarnacion showcased Project UNIVERSE: University TransNational Intensive Communication towards Ventures for Academic Mobility and Exchange in the Reinforcement of BatStateU Faculty and Staff on Sustainable Engagement in Internationalization. Successfully presented on December 11, 2024, the project highlights strategies to enhance BatStateU's internationalization efforts through sustainable academic mobility and collaboration.

On January 6, 2025, two compelling projects were presented. John Albert P. Silva’s Project SULAT: Development-Oriented Scriptwriting Course Pack for Multimedia Production aims to empower students with scriptwriting skills essential for transformative multimedia communication. Meanwhile, Nathaniel John A. Nuñez presented Project H.U.N.T.A: Holistic Understanding of Local Narratives Towards Advocating the Malaquing Tubig River's Significance – Scientifically Contextualizing the Malaquing Tubig River Through Local Narratives as a Basis for a Localized Environmental Science Learning Material, which promotes environmental awareness by integrating local narratives into environmental education, focusing on the Malaquing Tubig River.

Finally, on January 9, 2025, the project of Eunice Olan titled Health Communication Roadmap on Non-Communicable Diseases for the Local Government Unit (LGU) of San Jose, Batangas was successfully defended. This initiative addresses the increasing prevalence of non-communicable diseases in the municipality through a strategic health communication framework tailored for the LGU.

These successful pre-oral defenses underscore the MDC program’s dedication to academic excellence and societal impact. The innovative approaches presented by the students highlight their commitment to fostering community development and addressing global challenges through effective communication.

Our Masters of Development Communication students proudly represented Batangas State University, The National Engineering University, at the National Communication Research Conference 2024 held at De La Salle University Manila last November 22-23.

The two-day event featured thought-provoking discussions on community engagement, media etiquette, and inclusive representation.💡🌍
