Tennis may seem like magic, but it’s all physics in action! When players strike the ball, they harness momentum, the product of mass and velocity. This physical force determines the ball’s speed, spin, and direction.

In every shot, momentum plays a key role. When a player swings their racket, the combined momentum of their arm and racket transfers to the ball, influencing its motion. A powerful serve maximizes momentum for force, while spin shots use controlled momentum for precision.

According to the Law of Conservation of Momentum, the total momentum of the player, racket, and ball remains the same before and after impact, ensuring energy is carried through the shot. By mastering this principle, players can optimize their power and accuracy, making even seemingly gravity-defying shots possible!
