𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝟏𝐒𝐓 𝐑𝐔𝐍𝐍𝐄𝐑-𝐔𝐏 𝐓𝐎 𝐑𝐄𝐆𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝟏 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐌𝐏𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐒!

Last year, 𝐌𝐌𝐒𝐔-𝐂𝐂𝐈𝐒 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 came close, finishing as 1st Runner-Up in the Hack4Gov 2025 Regional Competition. This year, they came back with one goal: 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐛.

On August 19, 2026, at the Metro Vigan Fiesta Garden Hotel in Bantay, Ilocos Sur, MMSU-CCIS AngelsWings emerged as the 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐌𝐏𝐈𝐎𝐍 with of the HackForGov 5 Regional Cyber Challenge, organized by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). finishing 1st overall with an impressive 𝟗𝟐𝟎 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬!

Competing against 10 teams from colleges and universities across Region I, the team conquered a series of Capture-the-Flag (CTF) cybersecurity challenges covering web exploitation, cryptography, digital forensics, network/PCAP analysis, OSINT, and miscellaneous challenges.

𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐁𝐀𝐂𝐊

After falling just short of the championship last year, 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬 𝐄𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧, 𝐀𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐋𝐮𝐤𝐞 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐧, 𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐲 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬 𝐀𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐡 𝐒𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐨, under the guidance of their coach Mr. 𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐮𝐚 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐳, returned for their second HackForGov campaign.

With limited practice, the team relied on teamwork, quick thinking, adaptability, and determination to turn last year's near-win into this year's championship.

A special shoutout to our fellow 𝐌𝐌𝐒𝐔-𝐂𝐂𝐈𝐒 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦, 𝐇𝐓𝐓𝐏𝐇𝐚𝐜𝐤, for securing 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫-𝐔𝐩 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝟓𝟏𝟎 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬! 🏅🔥 The team is composed of 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐞 𝐆𝐰𝐲𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐨, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐀𝐥𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧, 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐄𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐡 𝐉𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞, under the guidance of their coach, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐨𝐬.

From almost winning it last year to taking the championship this year, this is more than a victory. It's the comeback we were waiting for.

Sa panahon ng mabilis na pag-unlad ng teknolohiya, nananatiling mahalaga ang Wikang Filipino bilang daluyan ng kaalaman, kultura, at pagkakakilanlan. Habang patuloy nating tinatahak ang landas ng digitalisasyon, nawa'y maging kasabay nito ang pagpapayabong at wastong paggamit ng ating sariling wika.

Bilang bahagi ng 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 (𝐂𝐂𝐈𝐒), naniniwala kaming ang teknolohiya ay higit na nagiging makabuluhan kapag ginagamit upang palakasin ang komunikasyon, inobasyon, at pagmamahal sa ating wikang pambansa.

Sa Buwan ng Wika, ating ipagdiwang ang isang wikang patuloy na umuunlad at nagbibigay-inspirasyon sa paglikha ng isang makabago ngunit makabayang digital na kinabukasan.

Yesterday's College Orientation and College Mixer welcomed the freshmen with fun-filled activities, and a warm introduction to the College of Computing and Information Sciences, making their first step into college both memorable and exciting.
