At the MMSU College of Engineering, 2nd Floor, JIECEP Corner, the afternoon air carried more than the usual chatter between classes. Strands of ribbon stretched across the room, colorful balloons swayed gently overhead, and a familiar birthday melody escaped from someone's speaker before being quickly hushed. Around the table, a few members busied themselves with candles, paper cups, and a cake carefully hidden from curious eyes.

The room settled into an eager silence. One glance at the door was all it took. Someone smiled. Another counted softly under their breath. Then, as the door finally opened, the silence gave way to a chorus that echoed through the hallwayโ€”

Across the halls of ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ง๐จ ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐œ๐จ๐ฌ ๐’๐ญ๐š๐ญ๐ž ๐”๐ง๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ,minds from different colleges and departments came together for a cosmic clash of knowledge. On ๐€๐ฎ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ 13, 2026, three (3) JIECEPeers proved that their curiosity can reach far beyond the classroomโ€”and apparently, all the way to the stars. ๐ŸŒŒ๐Ÿ’ฅ

Teams went head-to-head in a cosmic battle of knowledge covering space science, space technology, and their applications.

Armed with teamwork, quick thinking, and enough brainpower to navigate thirty questions across three challenging rounds, our JIECEPeers took on the challenge and came home with a 5๐ญ๐ก๐๐ฅ๐š๐œ๐ž ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ง๐ข๐ฌ๐ก! ๐Ÿ…๐ŸŒŸ

From calculating circuits to contemplating constellations, this trio certainly proved that an ECE studentโ€™s field of exploration does not end at the circuit board. Sometimes, you just have to look up. ๐ŸŒ ๐Ÿš€

This July 9, 2026, the ECE Department officially welcomed its newest batch of freshmen during the ๐——๐—ฒ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฎ๐—น ๐—ข๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป held at the Center for Flexible Learning.

Led by Department Chairperson Engr. Abegail E. Ruiz, the orientation introduced students to the faculty, academic and retention policies, and the essential foundations that will guide them throughout their journey in Electronics Engineering.

The program became even more inspiring through heartfelt testimonials from Sean Meiko Josh Pugal, Roman Vince Christopher Tabay, Miles Gabrielle Tomas, and Engr. Rachelle T. Brendez (Batch 2017). Sharing stories of perseverance, challenges, and triumphs, they reminded the freshmen that college is a stark shift from high school. They urged them to keep striving even as the difficulty of major subjects thins the ranks and revealed how they chose to stay and excelโ€”even if ECE wasnโ€™t their original first choice.
