Classes at all levels (public and private) are suspended today, August 25, 2026, in accordance with the directive of the local government due to the prevailing weather conditions.

Students are advised to stay updated through official announcements and prioritize their safety at all times.

Despite the persistent rain brought by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), representatives from the College of Health Sciences (CHS) joined the university community in marking the 500-day countdown to Mariano Marcos State University’s (MMSU) Golden Anniversary today, August 24.

The CHS representatives stood alongside fellow students and university officials during the ceremonial flag-raising ceremony at the university’s Twin Gate Road, demonstrating their commitment to representing the College even amid challenging weather conditions.

The ceremony also formally unveiled MMSU’s 50th anniversary seal and flag, signaling the beginning of the university’s preparations for its Golden Anniversary celebration on January 6, 2028.

Despite the rain, the Knights showed that commitment knows no weather—standing proud and representing CHS every step of the way toward MMSU’s golden milestone.

Mayor Markee R. Chua announced the suspension due to inclement weather brought by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

Please be advised that Memorandum Circular No. 131, issued by the Office of the President on 19 August 2026, provides for the implementation of alternative arrangements in response to the anticipated continuous heavy rainfall associated with the enhanced Southwest Monsoon.

The circular covers Ilocos Norte and other identified areas for 𝟮𝟬 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

For educational institutions, alternative learning modes and learning continuity measures shall be implemented at all levels in public and private schools, unless otherwise directed by the respective Local Chief Executives (LCEs).

Students are advised to stay updated through official university and local government announcements regarding any localized cancellation or suspension of classes.

Please prioritize your safety and continue to monitor official channels for further updates.
