Mariano Marcos State University recognizes the concerns raised by students regarding the release of CHED TES/TDP grants. We sincerely apologize for the delay and understand how important this financial assistance is to our students and their families.
The batches cover 12,792 student submissions. Given this volume, the release of the grants goes through several layers of verification and financial processing. Each submission must be checked for eligibility, completeness and accuracy of requirements, and validity of account information before disbursement.
The timeline has also been affected by the gradual submission of requirements. Despite the July 15 deadline, only about 70% of the expected submissions had been received by that date. During verification, discrepancies were also found in some account details, including incorrect or invalid account numbers and accounts registered under other individuals.
The University is complying with the Commission on Auditโs advice that disbursements be made through GCash or LandBank accounts. Some students have already received their grants, while the University is awaiting the valid GCash or LandBank account details of other beneficiaries before their grants can be released. We therefore encourage concerned students to promptly submit or correct their account information when requested.
We understand comparisons with other institutions where grants may have been released earlier. Processing timelines vary depending on the number of beneficiaries, completeness and accuracy of submissions, and required government financial procedures. MMSU has a considerably large number of beneficiaries under these batches.
We also acknowledge concerns regarding the temporary disabling of comments on scholarship-related posts. This was done to keep discussions focused and constructive. Students may continue to raise scholarship-related concerns through the Universityโs official communication channels or personally visit the OSAS-SFA Office, Room 203, Student Center.
MMSU is committed to facilitating the release of the remaining grants at the earliest possible time. We are expediting the processes within our control while ensuring compliance with government accounting and disbursement requirements. The University is also reviewing its internal procedures to shorten processing time in succeeding releases.
Another announcement will be issued for students who were unable to submit their requirements by the July 15 deadline.
