SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union - Representatives from the Department of Education in the City of Batac led by Dr. Joel B. Lopez, Schools Division Superintendent received the Bronze Award in the Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM) from the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Regional Office 1.

Thus, said by Dr. Joel B. Lopez in his response during the PRIME-HRM BRONZE Awarding Ceremony held at the National Educators' Academy of the Philippines, Region 1 (NEAP-R1), San Fernando City, La Union, March 31.

The Schools Division of the City of Batac (SDCB) may be small and young, but its accomplishments are noteworthy despite having a limited number of employees. This involved only a few heads, hearts, and hands but resulted in a remarkable outcome.

SDCB is the only schools division in the Province of Ilocos Norte and one of the five divisions in Region 1 conferred with the award.

In a courtesy visit to the City Mayor Albert Chua, Dr. Anselmo Aludino, discussed how the City Government of Batac and the the Schools Division Office can further enhance the educational system of Batac. Mayor Chua and other officials of the SDCB exchanged ideas with Dr. Aludino on improving the welfare of learners in the city.

The officials also talked about new programs and projects that can benefit the division. Mayor Chua expressed his desire to establish a speech laboratory to improve the communication skills of students in the city. With Dr. Aludino's leadership and collaboration, they aim to develop more programs that will benefit the learners of Batac. This collaboration between the city government and the division shows the importance of working together to provide better education for the youth, paving the way for a brighter future.

Tunay ngang walang makapapantay sa isang Pilipinong MAG-AARAL na may puso, galing, at talino. Kaya naman, nararapat lang nating ipagdiwang ang kanilang pagsisikap at tagumpay.

The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Youth Affairs and Special Concerns- Youth Formation Division (OASYASC-YFD), in partnership with DepEd Region VI and Schools Division Office of Iloilo City, will spearhead a virtual celebration of National Students' Day 2022 on November 17, 2022 via DepEd Philippines and DepEd Tayo- Youth Formation official page. To commemorate the event, a series of pre-event sessions will be held from November 14 to 16, 2022 co-presented by outstanding government and civil society organizations around the country.

With the theme, "Ikaw. Ako. Tayo: Bahagi ng Proseso at Boses ng Pagbabago," the celebration aims to provide learners, with different backgrounds, a platform to be engaged and be heard where everyone enjoys learning and being creative- trying new things, finding solutions, embracing their responsibilities, and valuing their meaningful contribution in coming up with what's best for them and what they truly deserve. We put the spotlight to our Filipino learners who remain strong and steadfast amidst different challenges.
