Growing Our Gulayan sa Paaralan Through Partnership

Baay Elementary School is grateful for its partnership with Veña Vierde Integrated Farm owned by Mr. Kevin Wyne P. Baga, through our Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).

Through this partnership, Veña Vierde Integrated Farm has provided seeds and vegetable seedlings to support our Gulayan sa Paaralan. These seedlings help us maintain a productive school garden while promoting healthy food choices and supporting our school programs.

We sincerely thank Veña Vierde Integrated Farm for helping us grow a greener, healthier, and more sustainable Baay Elementary School.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | 𝐁𝐚𝐚𝐲 𝐄𝐒 𝐑𝐞𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥

The newly designated School Governance Council (SGC) Ex-Officio Members, together with the school head, convened on August 15, 2026, at Baay Elementary School for the reorganization of the SGC and election of members who will serve for the next three years.

The newly organized Council is composed of Mrs. Felina P. Pungtilan, Elected Co-Chairperson; Mrs. Mayla V. Villaflor, Designated Co-Chairperson; Mrs. Cherryl R. Bonagua, Secretary; Mr. Romeo T. Bagaoisan, Barangay Captain; Pastor Stephen J. Castro, Religious Group Representative; Mr. Jessie James C. Pacli, Alumni President; Brgy. Kagawad Danny C. Pangdan, Education Committee Representative; Ms. Mary Madeline Lacanaria, SPTA President; and Merille Jomein B. Valdez, SELG President.

The Council discussed key priorities on learner welfare, school improvement, literacy and numeracy interventions, and stronger community participation in the school’s programs, projects, and activities.

The reorganization strengthens Baay ES’s commitment to inclusive, participatory, and collaborative school governance—united for the welfare and success of every learner.

Hinabing Kultura, Buhay na Pamana

Bilang bahagi ng pagpapayaman sa pagkatuto at pagpapahalaga sa kulturang Ilokano, itinampok ng mga mag-aaral ang buhay at makabuluhang ambag ni Magdalena “Nana Dalen” Gamayo, isang tanyag na dalubhasa sa tradisyunal na paghahabing Inabel.

Sa pamamagitan ng kanilang pagbabahagi, higit na nakilala ng mga mag-aaral ang kanyang buhay, dedikasyon, at natatanging kasanayan sa paghahabi na naging mahalagang bahagi ng pagpapanatili ng kulturang Ilokano.

Sa pagtalakay sa kanyang kuwento, natutuhan ng mga mag-aaral na ang Inabel ay hindi lamang isang tela. Bawat disenyo at bawat hibla ay naglalaman ng kuwento, kasaysayan, tradisyon, at pagkakakilanlan ng mga Ilokano.

Ang buhay ni Nana Dalen ay patunay na ang kultura ay nananatiling buhay kapag ito ay minamahal, pinahahalagahan, at ipinapasa sa susunod na henerasyon.

Sa bawat hibla, kultura ay buhay. Sa bawat habi, pamana ay naipagpapatuloy.

RISE Baay: Resilient Infrastructure, Safe Environment for Learning

Baay Elementary School warmly welcomed the delegation from the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Vigan City for a benchmarking visit focused on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) best practices.

As one of the schools selected to showcase its DRRM initiatives, Baay Elementary School embraced the opportunity to demonstrate its disaster preparedness, resilient facilities, and commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of learners, teachers, personnel, and the wider school community.

The benchmarking visit highlighted RISE Baay—Resilient Infrastructure, Safe Environment for Learning, an initiative that reflects the school’s continuing efforts to build, rebuild, and strengthen its facilities while developing a culture of preparedness and safety. From resilient structures and renovated learning spaces to DRRM Rooms and Corners, regular earthquake and fire drills, and established safety practices, RISE Baay embodies the school’s commitment to being ready, resilient, and responsive.

Under the leadership of School Principal Mrs. Lilibeth C. Dierpo, the school continues to view disaster preparedness not simply as a requirement, but as a shared responsibility and a continuing commitment to protect every learner and member of the school community.

The SDO Vigan City delegation was welcomed through a walkthrough of the school’s facilities and DRRM practices. The visit provided an opportunity for the delegation to observe the school’s preparedness initiatives and learn from its experiences in strengthening disaster resilience and school safety.

This milestone is also a reflection of the collective efforts of the school personnel, parents, and stakeholders whose continued support, time, and resources contribute to creating a safer and more resilient learning environment.

Through RISE Baay, the school community continues to move forward with one clear commitment:

Through a fun and meaningful activity, the Grade 5 learners wore masks representing our Filipino heroes while their classmates guessed who they were. More than a guessing game, the activity helped learners appreciate the courage, sacrifice, patriotism, and contributions of our national heroes while developing confidence, creativity, and love for country. ❤️🇵🇭

A Louder Voice for Better Learning!

The teaching staff of Baay Elementary School headed by Mrs. Lilibeth C. Dierpo are truly grateful for the distribution of lapel voice amplifiers, spearheaded by the Schools Division of the City of Batac (SDCB) under the leadership of our Schools Division Superintendent Anselmo R. Aludino.

These devices are more than just helpful tools, they are a meaningful support for teachers in making classroom instruction clearer, more audible, and more engaging. With the lapel voice amplifiers, teachers can communicate instructions effectively and facilitate discussions with greater ease.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and the Department of Education headed by Secretary Sonny Angara for their continued efforts to provide teachers with resources that support quality education and make the teaching and learning experience better.

We also sincerely thank the Schools Division of the City of Batac for making sure that this valuable support reaches our teachers.

Bilang bahagi ng Flag Ceremony noong July 27, itinanghal ng mga mag-aaral sa Ikaanim na Baitang ang isang dula tungkol sa Imperyalismo sa Pilipinas, na tampok ang pananakop ng mga bansang Espanya, Estados Unidos, at Hapon.

Sa pamamagitan ng kanilang pagtatanghal, naipakita nila ang kanilang pag-unawa sa mahahalagang pangyayari sa ating kasaysayan at naibahagi ang mahahalagang aral sa buong paaralan.
