Long before a program builds a tradition of excellence, 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆.

On August 19-20, the pioneer graduates of the Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) BS in Psychology program will take the much-anticipated Psychometrician Licensure Examination (PmLE) not only as examinees, but as the first standard-bearers of what the program's first-ever cream of the crop can achieve. They will be the first to carry the name of the University into the national stage--the first to define what the program is capable of, and the first to leave a standard for every batch that follows.

They carry more than their own aspirations. They carry the name of a young program ready to make its mark, the confidence of an entire community that believes in them, and the responsibility of opening doors for every Psychology student who will follow in their footsteps.

This is more than a licensure examination. It is an opportunity to show that years of discipline, resilience, and purpose have shaped professionals who are ready to serve, ready to lead, and ready to proudly earn the title of Registered Psychometrician.

May every answer reflect the countless hours of preparation. May every name appear on the list of passers. And may the pioneer batch achieve a 100% passing rate, setting a standard of excellence for generations to come.

To the future RPms: 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁. Grab that license. Wear it with pride. Carry it with honor.

On July 29, 2026, the 4th-year BS Psychology students participated in the Internship Pre-deployment and Orientation Seminar held at the University Review Board of Mariano Marcos State University.

The morning session focused on establishing key ethical and professional standards. Students were briefed on the Child Protection Policy, Department of Education's Internship Policies, workplace, and best Practices, the DepEd Learners’ Rights Framework and Protocols, and the integration of guidance services to ensure safe school environments.

In the afternoon, the focus turned toward safeguarding rights and well-being in professional settings, with comprehensive discussions on the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act and the Safe Spaces Act.

With this then, these upcoming student interns are ready to step into their roles with competence, integrity, and commitment to safe spaces.

We extend our sincerest gratitude to our esteemed resource speakers and valued partners from the Department of Education – Schools Division Offices of Laoag City, City of Batac, and Ilocos Norte – as well as to the dedicated faculty members of the Department of Social Sciences.

Our hearts go out to our kakailian whose lives and livelihoods have been affected by the devastating fire at the Batac Public Market. We grieve with every family of entrepreneurs, vendors, and workers who have suffered immense loss because of this tragedy.

To the members of the MMSU community who have been affected, please know that you are not alone. We stand with you in this difficult time. We are now gathering information to determine the extent of the impact on our students, employees, and their families so that we can immediately extend appropriate assistance.

Within our means, we will mobilize available resources to provide relief assistance, academic support and considerations, financial assistance, loan facilitation, and other forms of aid to help our affected constituents recover and rebuild.
