𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭'𝐬 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒? | CHS Sends off Batch PREVAIL ahead PNLE

With the Philippine Nurse Licensure Examination
(PNLE) drawing near, the Department of Nursing of the College of Health Sciences (CHS) gathered to honor and support Batch PREVAIL during a send-off mass and program at the CHS Auditorium on August 11, 2026.

The event, led by the Philippine Nursing Student Association - MMSU Chapter and the Knights of Nurses, brought together CHS administrators, faculty members, guests, and nursing students in preparation for the August 2026 and February 2027 PNLE.

The program, themed “PREVAIL and eaRN that License"! opened with remarks highlighting the examinees’ years of preparation and journey toward becoming registered nurses, including lectures, examinations, return demonstrations, Related Learning Experiences (RLEs), and case presentations.

Dr. Zhiela Marie F. Abiva, Chairperson of the Department of Nursing, encouraged Batch PREVAIL to draw strength from their journey and the meaning behind their batch name, noting that they had already overcome numerous challenges throughout their nursing education.

“𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙞𝙙 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙛𝙖𝙧 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙛𝙖𝙧,”
Abiva stated.

Meanwhile, Dr. Cheryll Didi Nellie N. Obra, Dean of the CHS, reminded the students that their families, professors, classmates, and the entire MMSU community are rallying behind them.

"𝙏𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙖 𝙗𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙝, 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙡𝙮, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙜𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙗𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙚𝙛𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩," Obra said.
Adding to the messages of inspiration, Dr. Karen Raidis R. Marcelino, College Secretary, emphasized the perseverance driving the examinees' journey, saying, "𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙞𝙙 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣 𝙞𝙩, 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙞𝙩."

The program also featured a video produced by Insight Publication, which showcased good luck messages and words of encouragement from faculty members.

During the Words of Gratitude, Bernadine Marie Yamat reframed the question “How do you pass the board exam?” beyond options A, B, C, and D, introducing the concept of the 5𝙂𝙨: 𝙂𝙧𝙞𝙩, 𝙂𝙪𝙩𝙨, 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚, 𝙂𝙧𝙤𝙬𝙩𝙝, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙚.

According to Yamat, grit represents perseverance during difficult questions and long nights; guts is facing the pressure head-on; gratitude is appreciating the people and experiences along the way; growth is learning continuously; and grace is trust.

The program culminated in a candle-lighting ceremony, signifying the examinees' commitment to their chosen career and their aspiration to achieve the title of Registered Nurse.

Prof. Alwin B. Santos, Adviser of the Knights of Nurses, delivered the closing remarks, bringing the program to a formal close and reinforcing the community's full support for the upcoming board examinees.

We have witnessed your struggles, your growth, and the perseverance that brought you to this moment. As a department, we are proud to see you ready to take the PNLE.

Trust what you have learned, trust your preparation, and most importantly, trust yourselves. Stay calm, think critically, and always remember the nursing principles that have guided you throughout your journey.

You have been taught, guided, challenged, and prepared. Now, it is your time to PREVAIL.

Go with courage, answer with confidence, and come back as Batch PREVAIL, RNs!

ANNOUNCEMENT INCOMING BSN LEVEL 1

Please read and follow the instructions carefully.

Students are advised to complete their required laboratory and diagnostic tests before proceeding to the MMSU University Infirmary. All necessary forms may be downloaded through the Student Portal.

1. Laboratory and Diagnostic Tests
• Only the laboratory and diagnostic tests indicated in the downloaded Laboratory Request Form are required.
• No additional laboratory or diagnostic tests beyond those specified in the form are needed.

2. Submission of Original Copies of Forms
• Once your medical forms have been approved in the Student Portal, a notification stating “You may now submit original copies” will appear.
• Students may submit the original copies of their forms before their scheduled registration date. Please note that the registration date refers to the enrollment schedule issued by the MMSU Registrar.
