📚 Day 2 of the School-Based INSET

The 2nd Day of our School-Based In-Service Training (INSET) focused on Lesson Planning using the ILAW Format with the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The session provided teachers with valuable opportunities to deepen their understanding and skills in developing effective, learner-centered, and competency-based lesson plans. Through the responsible use of AI tools, teachers explored practical ways to enhance lesson preparation, design meaningful learning activities, develop appropriate assessments, and address the diverse needs of learners.

This training emphasized that AI is not a replacement for teachers but a supportive tool that can strengthen teaching practice, creativity, and efficiency. By combining sound pedagogical knowledge with responsible digital adoption, our teachers continue to prepare themselves for future-ready classrooms and quality education.

✨ Empowering teachers today, transforming learning for tomorrow!

Sering Elementary School Conducts 2-Day School-Based INSET on Future-Ready Classrooms

Sering Elementary School officially begins the conduct of the 2-Day School-Based In-Service Training (INSET) on “Future-Ready Classrooms: Responsible Digital Adoption and AI Integration in Assessment, Teaching, and Learning” held at Genies Ridge.

The training aimed to strengthen teachers’ knowledge, skills, and confidence in using digital technologies and Artificial Intelligence (AI) responsibly and effectively in the classroom. It provided opportunities for teachers to explore innovative teaching strategies, responsible digital practices, and AI-powered tools that can support assessment, instruction, lesson planning, and learner engagement.

The 2-day INSET also emphasized the importance of ethical, safe, responsible, and purposeful use of AI, ensuring that technology serves as a tool to enhance—not replace—the essential role of teachers in facilitating meaningful learning experiences.

Through collaborative discussions, hands-on activities, and sharing of experiences, the training helped equip teachers with relevant knowledge and practical strategies toward building future-ready classrooms and digitally responsible learners.

Understanding Learners Beyond the Classroom

It is said that we cannot provide our full support and understanding to our learners if we do not know their roots, background, and way of living. To truly help them, we must first understand the challenges and circumstances that shape their experiences.

Yesterday, July 24, at 4:30 in the afternoon, the teaching staff of Sering Elementary School, headed by Mrs. Jellah C. Suyman, conducted a home visitation to reach the farthest pupils of Sering ES. The team traveled to the mountainous areas of Barangay Sering to personally visit and interview learners who had frequent absences and were at risk of dropping out.

During the visit, the teachers discovered that each learner had a unique story to tell. Different challenges, family situations, and economic conditions were revealed—reminding us that behind every absence is a reason that requires compassion, understanding, and support.

This initiative reflects the commitment of Sering Elementary School to go beyond the four walls of the classroom and build stronger connections with learners and their families. By understanding their realities, we can provide appropriate guidance, encouragement, and interventions to help them continue their education and achieve their dreams.

Sering Elementary School Ensures Continuous Learning Through Project HOLD

To ensure that learning continues despite class suspensions brought about by unfavorable weather conditions, Sering Elementary School has successfully implemented distance learning through the Division-initiated Project HOLD (Handling of Learning During Disruptions).

As part of the initiative, teachers prepared and distributed ready-made activity sheets to learners through class group chats and other accessible communication platforms. In addition, video lessons, digital learning materials, and supplementary activities were provided to help pupils continue their studies from the safety of their homes.

The implementation of Project HOLD reflects the school's unwavering commitment to providing quality education even during emergencies and unforeseen disruptions. Through the dedication and collaboration of teachers, parents, and learners, educational activities remain uninterrupted while ensuring the safety and well-being of everyone.

Parents also played a vital role by guiding and monitoring their children's learning at home, while teachers remained accessible online to answer questions, provide feedback, and monitor learners' progress. This collaborative effort strengthened the partnership between the school and the community in promoting continuous and meaningful learning.

With the successful implementation of Project HOLD, Sering Elementary School continues to uphold its mission of delivering inclusive, resilient, and learner-centered education, proving that learning never stops despite the challenges brought about by inclement weather.

Sering Elementary School Celebrates a Historic First Grand Alumni Homecoming

SERING, June 28, 2026 – Sering Elementary School proudly marked a significant milestone as it successfully held its First-Ever Grand Alumni Homecoming on June 28, 2026, with the inspiring theme, "Himamat: Pagsaulog sa Kagahapon, Paghugpong sa Karun" (A Reunion: Celebrating the Past, Strengthening the Present).

The memorable gathering brought together generations of Seringians, from the school's very first batch of elementary graduates in 1979 following the school's establishment in 1972, to its most recent alumni. Former pupils from different batches reunited to reminisce about cherished memories, reconnect with old classmates and teachers, and celebrate the enduring legacy of their alma mater.

The celebration began with a Holy Mass at 6:00 a.m., officiated by Reverend Neil John G. Minosa of the Church of the Body of Christ, where participants offered prayers of thanksgiving for the countless blessings received through the years. This was followed by a vibrant Grand Parade, showcasing the unity, pride, and joyful spirit of the alumni as they marched through the community.

One of the highlights of the event was the Raffle Draw for a Cause, which generated excitement among the participants as numerous prizes—from consolation items to major prizes—were awarded throughout the day. Beyond the thrill of winning, the raffle also served as a meaningful fundraising activity in support of future projects and programs for the school.

The celebration became even more meaningful with the inspiring message delivered by the guest speaker, Ma'am Sidlia Monesit Lecciones, whose words encouraged the alumni to continue supporting their beloved alma mater and to remain united in giving back to the institution that helped shape their lives.

Adding fun and laughter to the occasion were the lively parlor games, where alumni of all ages enthusiastically participated, strengthening friendships and creating new memories together.
As the sun set, the excitement continued with the much-awaited Gala Night, where participants showcased their creativity by wearing colorful and fashionable 1980s-inspired attire. The evening was filled with music, entertainment, dancing, and camaraderie, creating an atmosphere of joy and nostalgia that everyone will surely treasure for years to come.

The success of this historic event was made possible through the dedication and leadership of Hon. Jeffred Lausa, a proud alumnus of Sering Elementary School, together with the unwavering support of the organizing committee, alumni officers, teachers, volunteers, sponsors, and generous stakeholders. The program was skillfully hosted by Mr. Rolvic Villaluz, whose enthusiasm and professionalism kept the celebration lively and engaging from start to finish.

The First Grand Alumni Homecoming was more than just a reunion—it was a celebration of shared memories, lasting friendships, and the strong bond that continues to unite the Sering Elementary School community. It served as a reminder that no matter how far life takes its graduates, they will always have a place to call home at Sering Elementary School.

Indeed, the event was a remarkable success, leaving every participant with unforgettable memories and a renewed commitment to support and uplift their beloved alma mater for generations to come.
