KNHS YES-O Concludes Dazzling Science Month 2025

YES-O of Kadaclan National High School (KNHS) officially closed the book on its Science Month Celebration 2025, proving that a great celebration is worth the wait. Implemented by the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O), the festivities spanned September and October, culminating in a series of highly engaging and educational activities.

👉Cosmic Journeys and Microscopic Worlds
The flagship event, the Science Exhibit, was a resounding success, offering students an immersive journey into the wonders of the universe. From detailed models, a trip to the solar system and vast universe to a fascinating look at amazing things under the microscope, the exhibit sparked curiosity and offered a hands-on learning experience that captivated students of all levels.

👉Championing Cleanliness and Creativity
The YES-O also pushed the envelope for school environment and sustainability. The Search for the Cleanest Classroom concluded with a well-deserved victory for Grade 7B, setting a new benchmark for cleanliness and order within the school. Following this, the search for the Best Eco-friendly Creative Attire during the Intramural games showcased student ingenuity, transforming recyclable and sustainable materials into high-fashion statements.

👉A Call to Action: Planting the Future
The celebratory month wrapped up with a commitment to environmental stewardship through the Tree Planting and Community Clean-up Drive. This hands-on activity embodied the core mission of YES-O, uniting students, teachers, and the community to improve local ecology and keep the surrounding areas pristine.

Though the celebration was a bit late, the enthusiasm, participation, and impact of the KNHS YES-O's Science Month 2025 activities were undeniable. The message is clear: better late than never when it comes to celebrating science, sustainability, and the collective spirit of the Kadaclan National High School community.

Youth for Environment in Schools Organization E C O W A L K !

On March 15, 2025, the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) of Kadaclan National High School held an impactful Eco Walk, focusing on community clean-up and tree planting. The event took place along the scenic route from Tapaw to Chupac Greenbelt, in Barlig, Mountain Province.

The dedicated group of young environmentalists worked tirelessly, collecting a total of 48 kilograms of garbage along the way. This effort not only helped clean up the local environment but also raised awareness about the importance of maintaining a sustainable and clean community.

In addition to the clean-up, the group also dedicated time to plant trees, contributing to the preservation of the area’s natural beauty and supporting efforts to combat climate change. They further extended their environmental stewardship by cleaning the Eco Park Viewpoint at Khanafi, Chupac, making sure the space remained welcoming for all who visit.

Special thanks to Hon. Conard Awingan, who generously donated ₱1000 for the young environmentalists’ snacks to be fueled and be energized throughout the day.

The efforts of the Youth for Environment in Schools Organization are a testament to the power of youth-driven environmental action and community collaboration. By engaging in such activities, the students of Kadaclan National High School continue to play a significant role in promoting environmental awareness and inspiring future generations to take care of their surroundings.

Another YES-0 Accomplishment!

Cultivating Green Havens: Planting Tiger Grass to Foster Biodiversity

May 18, 2024

In a concerted effort to nurture our environment and support biodiversity, a recent tree planting activity took a unique twist as participants opted to plant tiger grass instead of traditional tree seedlings along the road of Lunas.

The endeavor, aimed at enhancing local ecosystems and mitigating environmental challenges, showcased the versatility and ecological benefits of this resilient grass species.

Tiger grass, scientifically known as Thysanolaena maxima, is native to Southeast Asia and is renowned for its rapid growth, dense foliage, and soil stabilization properties. Unlike conventional tree planting initiatives, which often focus solely on woody species, the decision to plant tiger grass reflects a strategic approach to ecosystem restoration and conservation.

CLOTHING DRIVE DONATION

"What you can spare gives spark to one's life!"

The Youth for Environment in Schools Organization distributed clothes and shoes to chosen students of Kadaclan NHS as part of their OUTREACH PROGRAM this 23rd day of February 2024.

Participating in clothing drive donation is a meaningful way to give back to the community and help those in need. By donating gently
used clothing items, we can make positive impact on the lives of individuals.

Clothing drives also provide us with the opportunity to declutter our own closets, contribute to a more sustainable society, and promote a culture of reuse and recycling.

Thanks to all who donated! ☺️
