I am aware of the reported threat circulating on social media involving students of three schools in Barili.
I want to assure our students, parents, teachers, and the entire Barili community that the situation is being closely monitored and that the necessary security measures are already in place.
The Municipal Government of Barili is in close coordination with the Barili Municipal Police Station and the concerned schools. Additional police personnel, BPATS, and Army personnel are being deployed to the affected schools to strengthen security and police visibility. Our school heads and law enforcement authorities are also maintaining close communication to ensure the safety of our students and school personnel.
At the same time, I appeal to everyone, especially our students and young people, to refrain from making threats, sharing threatening messages, or using dummy or anonymous social media accounts to cause fear or panic. Such acts are serious matters and may constitute offenses punishable under our laws. They are not jokes, pranks, or harmless posts, and those responsible will be held accountable through the proper legal process.
The police have already identified a person of interest and are conducting the necessary verification and investigation. We ask the public to allow authorities to do their work and to avoid spreading unverified information that could create unnecessary fear and panic.
To our parents and students: please remain calm, vigilant, and cooperative. We are taking this matter seriously, and the LGU, PNP, schools, and other security personnel are working together to protect our community.
Our children's safety is our shared responsibility. Let us remain calm, united, and vigilant.
