Official Notice | To All Lyceans

Following the recent incident involving a threatening post concerning our school, police authorities have already visited the campus to investigate the matter and determine who was responsible for the post. Police personnel also stayed at the school gates to help ensure the safety and security of everyone in the school community.

We sincerely thank the police officers who came to our school, assisted with the investigation, and remained at the gates to help keep our school community safe. We greatly appreciate their presence, assistance, and commitment to our safety.

We kindly ask everyone in the school community to remain calm and avoid posting, sharing, or spreading unverified information about the incident. Such posts may cause unnecessary fear and confusion.

Please be assured that the matter is being properly handled by the authorities. Let us cooperate with the investigation and rely only on official and verified information.

Thank you to our police personnel for their support and for helping keep our entire school community safe. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

School shooting threats are not jokes, pranks, or something to post just for attention.

The Philippines has been facing a disturbing rise in school-related violence and threats. In just three weeks, at least 15 cases of school violence and threats were reported, leaving 32 students injured and three dead. Today, August 18, another tragic school shooting occurred in Zamboanga, leaving students dead and others injured.

And yet, some people continue to make shooting threats online—sometimes from fake or dummy accounts—without thinking about the fear and chaos their posts can cause. Authorities have already investigated online shooting threats against schools, including threats sent through social media.

Let’s be clear: a threat is not harmless just because you call it a joke.

So before you type that threat, before you make that “joke,” and before you hit POST—think.

Think about the students who will be scared to go to school.
Think about the parents who will worry about their children.
Think about the teachers who will have to respond.
Think about the lives that could be affected by a few seconds of reckless posting.

Social media gives us the freedom to speak, but it does not remove the responsibility for what we say.

Thank you for our school's quick action, and thank you to the people who reported this.

If you see a credible threat, do not share it for attention or spread panic. Report it to school authorities and the proper authorities immediately.

11TH FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY | A CELEBRATION OF LEGACY AND GRATITUDE 🎉💗

August 14, 2026 marked a meaningful milestone for the Lyceum of Cebu, Inc. – Barili Campus as we celebrated our 11th Founding Anniversary. The celebration began with a Holy Mass and room blessings, followed by a program filled with inspiring messages, performances, and cherished moments. The event also featured an inspiring tribute to the life and impact of RET. Judge Esperanza “Inday” Fiel Garcia, honoring the legacy that continues to inspire the Lyceum community.
