CDRRMO: 0966-774-6951 The CLSU RM-CARES is an Organic Farming Training Center that aims to empower the organic farmers and practitioners as well as to develop a variety of organic inputs for sustainable and safe crop production. It is a center that encourages the utilization of

locally available organic resources and produce microbial fertilizers, compost enhancers, and plant supplements in order to enhance soil health and boost crop productivity. The good agricultural practices in the Center includes crop rotation, green manuring, biological pest management, biocontrol agents, and minimum cultivation practices in place of using chemicals as farm inputs and extensive cultivation that destroys the structure of the soil. As a veritable powerhouse in developing environmentally sustaining and best practices technologies (products and information) in organic farming, the Center also undertakes research and development to produce farm inputs from local raw materials. It also engages in rigorous capacity building of all stakeholders (farmers, LGUs, Extension agents, teachers, students, and other organic practitioners) in Central Luzon and in the Philippines. It serves as a venue to showcase organic agriculture inputs and products in support of the organic agriculture promotion in the country.

RMCARES Successfully Undergoes ISO Internal Audit

The Ramon Magsaysay Center for Agricultural Resources and Environment Studies (RMCARES) successfully underwent its ISO Internal Audit, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining a robust Quality Management System and continuously improving its services.

The audit evaluated the center's processes and overall compliance with established quality standards. The activity provided a valuable opportunity to identify key strengths, address areas for improvement, and reinforce a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous enhancement across all operations.

The successful completion of the internal audit reflects RMCARES' dedication to operational excellence and its ongoing commitment to delivering quality agricultural, environmental, and research services in support of the University's mission and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

On July 2, CLSU-RM CARES, in partnership with the City Agriculture Office, successfully conducted a comprehensive training session on Compost and Vermicompost Production for local farmers, cooperatives, associations, and agricultural extension workers.โฃ

Our dedicated team of researchers and experts from CLSU-RM CARES led vital discussions on organic farming, sustainable compost production, and Trichoderma production. We shared innovative, eco-friendly technologies designed to improve soil health, increase crop productivity, and reduce reliance on chemical fertilizers.โฃ
The learning went beyond the classroom! Following the lectures, we headed out to the field for a hands-on demonstration, giving participants a first-hand look at the actual application of compost and vermicompost production.โฃ
