Fire Prevention Month: BFP holds symposium

Bureau of Fire Protection ( BFP) Bansalan thru the school's Disaster Risk Reduction Management conducted a symposium to SSG, Classroom and Club officers of Pedro Arches National High School today March 17,2023.

This symposium is one of the activities of BFP for this year's Fire Prevention Month.

Present in the symposium were Senior Fire Officer 2 ( SFO2) Suralta, SFO2 Barretto and fire officers of Bansalan BFP.

With this year's theme "Sa Pag-iwas sa Sunog Di Ka Nag iisa", SFO2 Baretto, shared inputs on Fire Safety Tips ,Fire Safety Awareness, and What to do when a Fire Breaks Out .

Earthquake drill was also conducted followed by a Fire drill participated by students from all grade levels.

Moreover students witnessed the demonstration of putting out fire using the hose and fire extinguisher performed by the SDDRM officers and some teachers.

The symposium ended before noon with distribution of certificate of appreciation and picture taking by grade level.

Pedro A. Arches National High School conducted Quarterly Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) last March 09,2023, 4:00 pm in the afternoon.

Teachers were instructed to shorten their classes to give way to the drill. At exactly 4:00 pm, the bell rung to start the drill, SSG officers proceed to their assigned buildings to guide students on their way to the safe area.

Students were lined up by grade levels in a wide area together with teachers beside them while listening to the instructions of the School Head.

Mr. Edgar O. Obiso, reminded the students to always be alert and not to forget what they learn during earthquake drills in an event that an actual earthquake occurs.

Furthermore, Mr. Edgar O. Obiso also announces the conduct of Fire Prevention Month Symposium in Collaborating the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) on March 17, 2023.

Three parties were introduced today, September 12,2022, as candidates for SSG election this school year 2022-2023.

Election campaign will commence tomorrow, September 13 and will end with a Meeting de Avance on September 14, 2022.

PANHS will hold its first automated elections on Friday, September 16, 2022.

PANHS goes Digital

Teachers of Pedro A. Arches National High School undergo training for Project Vert, a platform design to support distance learning through smartphones, tablets and computers.

Mr. Erwin F. Cortez and Ms. Christine Mae Culango, both SHS teachers and members of the Division technical working group behind Project Vert lead the training last Friday, September 9, 2022.

With Project Vert, teachers can have their own virtual classroom where they can upload videos or any lessons related to their class. Teachers can also use the system as an online class record of student's performances in their subjects.

According to Mr. Cortez, Project Vert is a developing project, innovations which aim to maximize its potential to aid teachers and students toward digitalization of education is on going.

Pedro A. Arches National High School students and teachers practice Drop, Cover, and Hold during the 3rd Quarter Simultaneous National Earthquake Drill set on Thursday, September 08, 2022.

DROP down onto your hands and knees immediately. This position protects you from falling but still allows you to move if necessary.

COVER your head and neck (and your entire body if possible) underneath a sturdy table or desk.

HOLD ON to your shelter (or to your head and neck) until the shaking stops. Be prepared to move with your shelter if the shaking shifts it around.

On August 25, 2022, student's of Pedro A. Arches National High School attended the listing of participants for sports event for sch yr. 2022- 2023.

Student's can choose to join any of the following sports event: Billiards, Sepak Takraw, Taekwondo/ Wuzho, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Basketball, Badminton, Chess and Athletics.

This event is sponsored by Barkada Kontra Droga headed by their coordinator, Ma'am Lovella V. Labio.
