| 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐋𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐎𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐞-𝐭𝐨-𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

The Provincial Government of Abra suspends onsite face-to-face classes in all public and private schools at all levels on August 24, 2026, in the interest of the safety and well-being of learners, teachers, and school personnel.

Government work is likewise suspended, while concerned offices may adopt appropriate alternative work arrangements, subject to the needs of the service.

Private establishments are likewise encouraged to exercise discretion and adopt appropriate work arrangements, taking into consideration the safety and well-being of their employees and the prevailing weather conditions.

Health workers, rescue personnel, and other personnel involved in emergency response and the delivery of critical and continuous services shall continue to perform their duties as necessary.

The suspension is due to PAGASA’s forecast of occasional to frequent rains over Abra, brought about by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), with possible moderate to heavy rainfall that may trigger flash floods and landslides in vulnerable areas.

Ngayong 𝗔𝗴𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗼 𝟮𝟭, ginugunita natin ang 𝗡𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘆 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗼’𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆—isang araw ng pag-alala sa buhay, sakripisyo, tapang, at pagmamahal sa bayan ni 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗼 “𝗡𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘆” 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗝𝗿.

In view of 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗺 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗡𝗼. 𝟭𝟯𝟭 issued by the 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁, upon the recommendation of the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗶𝘀𝗸 𝗥𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 (𝗡𝗗𝗥𝗥𝗠𝗖), and in anticipation of continued heavy rainfall brought about by the 𝗲𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗼𝗻 (𝗛𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘁), 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗲𝗱 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 is implementing 𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗲𝘀 (𝗔𝗗𝗠) today, 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

This measure is being undertaken to ensure the safety and well-being of our learners and personnel while sustaining learning continuity despite the weather conditions and possible risks of localized flooding and travel hazards.

📚 Our teachers continue to facilitate learning through appropriate alternative modalities, including online learning, modular learning, and other learning continuity measures, as applicable.

Let us continue to work together in keeping our learners safe while ensuring that learning never stops.

The Office of the President, through Memorandum Circular No. 131, has directed the implementation of alternative work arrangements in government offices in Abra on August 20, 2026, in view of continued heavy rainfall associated with the enhanced Southwest Monsoon.

For schools in Abra: Unless otherwise directed by the respective Local Chief Executives, alternative learning modes and learning continuity measures shall be implemented at all levels in both public and private schools.

Government agencies providing basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services shall continue operations.

COS and JO workers placed under alternative work arrangements shall be paid their corresponding wages or salaries, subject to applicable rules and regulations.

The adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector remains at the discretion of management.

📚 Despite the challenges brought by the weather, learning continues beyond the four walls of the classroom. Our teachers continue to facilitate learning through appropriate modalities, including online learning, modular learning, and other home-based learning activities, as applicable.

We encourage our learners, parents, and guardians to remain vigilant, monitor official weather advisories, and prioritize safety at all times.
