"I am the daughter of a farmer and an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW). Growing up, I witnessed the countless sacrifices my parents made just to send us to school. Despite their tireless efforts, pursuing higher education—especially a demanding course like Nursing—was financially challenging.

The Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) helped me meet the growing demands of my course and other academic necessities. Because of TES, I was able to stay focused, manage the pressures of Nursing school, and continue my studies without placing additional financial strain on my family. This support gave me stability and reassurance during moments when giving up felt like an option.

As I completed my Nursing degree, I realized that TES provided more than just financial assistance—it gave me the opportunity to grow with confidence and purpose. Knowing that my education was supported inspired me to persevere, strive for excellence, and prepare myself to serve others. As a Nursing graduate, I am deeply grateful for this program for helping shape my journey and empowering me to provide compassionate and dedicated nursing care."

"Graduating as Magna Cum Laude was truly a great honor and a proud achievement in my academic journey. I am also deeply honored to have been one of the TDP grantees. Financial support is not always easy to obtain, and pursuing education can be challenging without it. I am sincerely grateful that the TDP program helped support me financially and made it possible for me to reach my goals.

Even though I was only a grantee for a year, TDP was able to help me fund some of my school expenses, like my recollection fee. The financial support really eased my burden, and I'm truly grateful to have been one of the chosen students. The experience has been a blessing, and I'm thankful for the opportunity to have had their support during that time."

This initiative aims to gather students’ experiences and assess the accessibility, appropriateness, and viability of flexible learning arrangements amid the ongoing energy crisis. The results will help guide timely policy and operational responses for the higher education sector.

The CHED-UniFAST CAR TES and TDP-TES grantees from Divine Word College of Bangued had their general orientation on the policies and requirements of their respective grants on April 20, 2026 at the DWCB gymnasium. The orientation was facilitated by Ms. Jezeny Laoyan, lead coordinator of CHED-UniFAST CAR, and assisted by Maam Mia.

Likewise, the student-grantees were orientated about the Landbank Mobile Banking App. Also, an onsite simultaneous opening of Landbank accounts was conducted and facilitated by the very supportive Department Manager of Landbank Bangued Branch, Mr. Rolando Jaquias, and assisted by Maam Rizza Villanueva.
