𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: Future Science Educators Reimagine Teaching in the AI-Driven Classroom

Today, April 18, 2026, a seminar with the theme “𝘙𝘦𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘌𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺, 𝘗𝘦𝘥𝘢𝘨𝘰𝘨𝘺, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘌𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘈𝘐-𝘋𝘳𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘊𝘭𝘢𝘴𝘴𝘳𝘰𝘰𝘮” convened future science educators in a timely conversation on transforming teaching practices in an increasingly digital world.

Organized by 𝗣𝗵𝗗 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 under the supervision of 𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗤. 𝗙𝗮𝗯𝗶𝘁𝗼, the seminar responded to the growing demand for innovative, technology-driven, and ethically grounded science instruction.

The program opened with a thought-provoking message from Dr. Fabito, challenging participants with a key question: 𝘈𝘳𝘦 𝘸𝘦 𝘴𝘩𝘢𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘢𝘥𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘶𝘱 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘵?

A series of insightful discussions followed, led by engaging resource speakers:

𝗠𝘀. 𝗞𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗝𝗼𝘆 𝗔. 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗼 explored Technology and AI Applications in Science Teaching, highlighting how emerging tools can enhance learning and assessment.

𝗠𝘀. 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗛. 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗲𝘇 tackled Designing and Delivering Tech-Integrated Science Lessons, focusing on aligning technology with sound pedagogy to improve learning outcomes.

𝗠𝘀. 𝗠𝗮. 𝗚𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮 𝗕. 𝗛𝘂𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗮 emphasized Ethics and Responsible Use of Technology in Science Education, reminding educators of their role in promoting critical and ethical digital citizens.

Participants, composed of second- and third-year BSED Science majors, actively engaged in discussions, shared insights, answered questions, and took part in interactive activities proving that learning goes both ways in a well-designed classroom.

Also present were 𝗦𝗶𝗿 𝗥𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗿 𝗦. 𝗕𝗮ñ𝗲𝘇, Student Government Adviser and BEED Program Head, along with selected SG officers who supported the successful conduct of the seminar. 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗝𝗼𝗮𝗻 𝗚𝘂𝘇𝗺𝗮𝗻, Program Head of PhD Science Education, also shared her message to the participants, reminding them that they lead learning not the technology, and encouraging them to empower students to think actively, and to keep science rooted in real-life contexts.

The session concluded with a clear message: 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘴𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘦𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘪𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘫𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘱𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘱𝘶𝘳𝘱𝘰𝘴𝘦, 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘢 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳 𝘷𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘧𝘶𝘭 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨.

𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞: 𝖮𝖲𝖠𝖲 𝖩𝗈𝗂𝗇𝗌 𝖠𝖲𝖨𝖲𝖳 𝖦𝖠𝖣 𝖮𝖿𝖿𝗂𝖼𝖾 𝗂𝗇 𝖲𝖾𝖺𝗋𝖼𝗁 𝖿𝗈𝗋 𝖦𝖾𝗇𝖽𝖾𝗋-𝖱𝖾𝗌𝗉𝗈𝗇𝗌𝗂𝗏𝖾 𝖮𝖿𝖿𝗂𝖼𝖾𝗌

The Office for Student Affairs and Services (OSAS) participated in the Search for Gender-Responsive Office/Unit organized by the ASIST Gender and Development (GAD) Office.

This initiative forms part of the institution’s observance of National Women’s Month last March, in line with the Philippine Commission on Women’s theme, “𝘞𝘌 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘌𝘲𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐𝘯𝘤𝘭𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘚𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘵𝘺.”

Through this activity, OSAS affirms its commitment to advancing gender mainstreaming, promoting inclusive practices, and supporting the effective implementation of GAD programs within the institution.

Classes will resume on 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟲.

Students are encouraged to make the most of this break to rest, recharge, and reflect, especially as we observe the Lenten season.
