Bañacao Elementary School successfully conducted its 3rd General School Parent-Teacher Association (SPTA) Meeting today, September 18, 2026, headed by Dr. Cristine E. Baroña, School Principal I.

The meeting provided a meaningful avenue for the school to share important updates, announcements, and pertinent information with parents and guardians, while strengthening collaboration and partnership toward the continuous improvement of learner support and school programs.

Among the important matters presented and discussed were:

📌 BSP Registration and Updates – Sir John Paul B. Banayos

📌 Sports Updates – Ma’am Rosemelyn L. Chahuyao
📌 Bullying: Offenses and Consequences in accordance with DepEd Order No. 006, s. 2026 – Dr. Cristine E. Baroña

Following the 3rd General SPTA Meeting, parents and guardians proceeded to their respective classrooms for the Homeroom Meeting and Card Giving.

The activity culminated with the distribution of learners’ report cards, giving parents and guardians a clearer picture of their children’s progress during the first term and helping identify areas where continued guidance and support are needed.

The activity also served as a platform for open communication, shared responsibility, and stronger school-home partnership, ensuring that parents and guardians remain informed and actively involved in matters concerning the welfare and development of our learners.

💙 Our heartfelt appreciation goes to all parents and guardians who took the time to attend, participate, and support the school’s programs and initiatives. Your presence, cooperation, and continued partnership truly make a difference in building a supportive and learner-centered school community.

BIRTHDAY BLESSINGS, SHARED WITH LOVE: PROJECT DECS BRINGS JOY TO 187 BAÑACAO ES LEARNERS 💙✨

Bañacao Elementary School | September 11, 2026

A birthday celebration became even more meaningful as Sir Dexter Daria, a Master Teacher of Bangued West Central School, chose to celebrate his special day by giving back and sharing his blessings with the learners of Bañacao Elementary School through Project DECS.

In celebration of his birthday, Sir Dexter chose to give back by distributing school supplies and snacks to all 187 learners of Bañacao Elementary School. More than a simple birthday celebration, the activity reflected his commitment to extending kindness, sharing blessings, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of children.

During the activity, Sir Dex shared a heartfelt message that went beyond the gifts he brought. He encouraged the learners to study hard, pursue their dreams, and someday, when they already have their own jobs and careers, return to Bañacao Elementary School and share their blessings with the next generation.

“When the time comes that you already have your job, come back to Bañacao Elementary School and give back to the next generation.”

His simple yet powerful message reminded everyone that true generosity does not end with receiving—it continues when we choose to give back.

School Principal Ma’am Cristine Baroña expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Sir Dexter for his kindness, generosity, and thoughtfulness. She also conveyed her appreciation to all the sponsors who supported Project DECS, making it possible to reach every learner of Bañacao ES.

Teachers and parents likewise expressed their sincere gratitude for this meaningful gesture. For the learners, the school supplies will help them in their studies; the snacks brought smiles to their faces; but the lesson of giving back and paying blessings forward may remain with them for many years to come.

Indeed, Sir Dex’s birthday was not only a celebration of another year of life—it became a celebration of kindness, generosity, and hope for the next generation.

Bañacao Elementary SchoolStrengthens Assessment Practices Through School-Based INSET on Quality Test Construction

BAÑACAO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL — Strengthening teachers’ capacity to develop meaningful, valid, and higher-order assessment tools, Bañacao Elementary School, in collaboration with the six teachers of Sagap Elementary School, successfully conducted a School-Based In-Service Training (INSET) on Enhancing Assessment Quality: Strengthening Test Construction, Table of Specifications, and Higher-Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) Test-Item Development through Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy.

Serving as the proponent and resource person, Dr. Cristine E. Baroña, School Principal I, led the training and provided an in-depth discussion on the essential principles and practices in assessment and test construction.

The morning session focused on the Overview and Guidelines in Test Construction and the preparation of a Table of Specifications (TOS). Dr. Baroña emphasized the importance of ensuring that assessment tools are aligned with the intended learning competencies, instructional objectives, and appropriate cognitive levels.

For the afternoon session, the participants delved into the General Rules in Writing Quality Test Questions and the development of a Table of Specifications aligned with Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy. Various types of classroom tests were also discussed, together with practical techniques and considerations in constructing appropriate and quality test items.

Throughout the training, Dr. Baroña underscored a fundamental principle: assessment is an integral part of the teaching and learning process. Effective assessment does not merely measure what learners know; it provides valuable information that guides instruction, identifies learning gaps, and supports improved learner outcomes.

The training was characterized by active participation, meaningful discussions, and engaging workshop activities. Participants were given opportunities to apply the concepts learned by crafting test items and aligning them with the appropriate cognitive processes under Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy. The hands-on activities allowed teachers to translate the principles discussed into actual classroom assessment practices.

At the conclusion of the training, an evaluation of the sessions was conducted. The participants’ active engagement and outputs reflected the productivity of the learning activities, with the training objectives successfully addressed.

As a gesture of appreciation for their active participation, commitment, and valuable contribution to the training, Certificates of Recognition were awarded to the participating teachers during the closing program.

The School-Based INSET reaffirmed the commitment of Bañacao Elementary School and Sagap Elementary School to continuous professional development and to the delivery of assessment practices that are purposeful, learner-centered, competency-aligned, and responsive to the demands of 21st-century learning.

DepEd Bañacao Elementary School conducted their School Intramurals 2026 with the theme: “𝙎𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘼𝙡𝙡: 𝘽𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝𝙮 𝙈𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙨, 𝙎𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝘽𝙤𝙙𝙞𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙂𝙤𝙤𝙙 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙧.” The school intramurals give an opportunity to our learners to showcase their skills, talents, teamwork, sportsmanship, and most importantly, discipline.

Through various sports and games, the learners are able to understand and appreciate the essence of fair play, respect, cooperation and perseverance.

The activity was started with an Opening Program wherein the learners performed their energetic yells to build confidence and create excitement for the school intramurals. Meanwhile, the School Principal, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗘. 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗼ñ𝗮, reiterated the value of a good character emphasizing that discipline is very important during activities and competitions.

Following the Opening Program, the learners participated in parlor games and various sports such as volleyball, athletics, badminton, and chess. The parlor games brought joy and laughter among the learners, while the different sporting events challenged them to give their best and work together as a team.

Overall, the School Intramurals was a success made possible through the collaborative efforts of learners, teachers, and parents.

Moreover, Bañacao Elementary School would like to extend its sincere gratitude to 𝘔𝘴. 𝘓𝘶𝘻𝘷𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘢 𝘈𝘧𝘰𝘴, the SPTA President, and to our generous Barangay Captain, 𝘏𝘰𝘯. 𝘋𝘦𝘯𝘯𝘪𝘴 𝘉. 𝘉𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘥𝘰 for their unwavering support and valuable contributions to the success of this meaningful activity.

These beautiful words from Ma’am Rowena B. Bringas truly captured the spirit of her special day.

Rather than having an extravagant birthday celebration, Ma’am Rowena chose to share her blessings through a meaningful Gift Giving and Feeding Program, bringing happiness, nourishment, and hope to children.

Bañacao Elementary School was blessed to be one of the recipients of this heartfelt outreach activity, benefiting 188 learners.

The school grounds were filled with excitement as the pupils eagerly received their gifts. Their bright smiles, joyful faces, and heartfelt appreciation made the occasion even more special. For many of them, the simple act of receiving a gift became a precious memory they will surely cherish.

Beyond the gifts and the food was a beautiful message: true happiness is found in making others happy. Ma’am Rowena’s generosity reminds us that a birthday does not have to be grand to be meaningful. Honoring Dedication and Service: Bañacao ES Kicks Off Teachers’ Day Celebration

Bañacao Elementary School officially kicked off its Teachers’ Day Celebration with a simple yet meaningful gathering held after the flag ceremony, bringing together the school’s dedicated teachers, pupils, parents, and SPTA officials.

The activity was initiated by SPTA President Charity Luzviminda Afos, together with the other SPTA officials, who prepared a heartfelt and memorable celebration in honor of the school’s teachers. The active participation of parents and pupils added warmth and joy to the occasion, reflecting the strong partnership between the school and the community.

School Principal Ma’am Cristine E. Baroña expressed her sincerest appreciation and warmest thanks to the SPTA officers and parents for organizing the meaningful kick-off.
