📊 Transparency and Accountability in School Fund Management

As part of the school’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and effective resource management, School Principal Ms. Cristine E. Baroña convened a short meeting with the teaching personnel after the morning class dismissal to present the Budget Utilization Report for the month of May, covering the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) Fund, School Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE), and other special funds received by the school.

During the presentation, teachers were informed of the allocations, expenditures, and current utilization status of the school’s financial resources. Ms. Baroña provided a detailed overview of how the funds were strategically utilized to address the immediate and long-term needs of the school.

A significant portion of the DRRM Fund was allocated for the repair and rehabilitation of damaged school facilities, particularly the roofing and ceiling structures of classrooms affected by weather-related incidents. The fund also supported disaster preparedness initiatives, safety enhancement measures, and other emergency-related activities aimed at ensuring a safe and conducive learning environment for both learners and personnel.

Meanwhile, the School MOOE and other special funds were utilized to cover essential operational expenses, procurement of instructional and office supplies, minor repairs and maintenance, utility payments, and the implementation of school programs and activities that contribute to improved service delivery and educational outcomes.

The reporting activity served as an avenue to promote transparency in financial management and to keep all personnel informed about the responsible and efficient use of school resources. It also encouraged shared accountability and strengthened the culture of openness and trust within the school community.

Through regular financial reporting and collaborative decision-making, Bañacao Elementary School continues to uphold the principles of good governance and fiscal responsibility in support of quality education and school improvement.

Bañacao Elementary School Holds Successful General SPTA Meeting and Parents’ Orientation

Bañacao Elementary School successfully conducted its General SPTA Meeting and Parents’ Orientation last Saturday, June 13,2026 with the active participation of parents, teachers, and stakeholders. The activity aimed to strengthen school-home partnership and provide important updates and information for the School Year 2026–2027.

The activity commenced with the singing of the Makabayan Song led by Ms. Evangeline L. Millare, followed by an opening prayer led by Mrs. Merejen T. Rivera. To create a lively and engaging atmosphere, an energetic roll call was facilitated by Ms. Rosemelyn Chahuyao, assisted by Mr. John Paul B. Banayos.

In the opening remarks of Ms. Cristine Escalante Baroña, School Principal, warmly welcomed the parents and teachers. She emphasized the vital role of parents and stakeholders as partners in improving the school and ensuring the holistic development and academic success of every learner.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the election of the new set of General SPTA Officers, who will work hand in hand with the school in implementing programs and activities that will benefit the learners.

The review of the existing SPTA Constitution and By-Laws was presented by the PTA Secretary, Kimberly Oreilly Bersalona, to familiarize parents with the organization’s policies and responsibilities.

School Principal Ms. Cristine Escalante Baroña discussed the School Rules and Policies and presented the school’s priority projects and development plans for School Year 2026–2027. These initiatives are geared toward enhancing the learning environment and improving educational outcomes for all learners.

Meanwhile, Ms. Riane Asilador Laureta presented and discussed the Guidelines on Learning Continuity During Emergencies, emphasizing the importance of preparedness and ensuring uninterrupted learning during unforeseen circumstances.

The school’s enrollment status was also presented by Ms. Joy Beroña, reporting a total enrollment of 187 learners for the current school year. Parents were likewise oriented on the Three-Term School Calendar for SY 2026–2027, including important schedules and school activities.

As part of the program, the school also recognized and awarded its Brigada Eskwela partners for their invaluable support, generosity, and commitment to the success of the school’s Brigada Eskwela implementation.

Adding value to the orientation, ADTEMPCO personnel, led by Sir Raymond Jay H. Bosque, Youth Formation Coordinator, joined the meeting and presented the Aflatoun Membership Program and various livelihood projects that could benefit parents and the community.

The successful conduct of the General SPTA Meeting and Parents’ Orientation reflects the strong collaboration among parents, teachers, and stakeholders in ensuring quality education and a conducive learning environment for every learner.

Bangued MPS Conducts Awareness Lecture and School Engagement Activity at Bañacao Elementary School

The Bangued Municipal Police Station (MPS) led by PCMS Dick Timbreza, Chief, PCAD PNCO, under the supervision of PMAJ Graeme Boy Bolante Javier, Chief of Police, with the proper coordination to the School Principal Ms. Cristine Escalante Baroña conducted an awareness lecture and school engagement activity at Bañacao Elementary School. The visit is part of the implementation of OPLAN (BES) “Bisita Eskwela: I Am Strong,” of the Bangued PNP.

The activity gathered pupils, parents, and teachers in an informative and meaningful session that focused on personal hygiene, disaster preparedness, child protection (Good Touch and Bad Touch), anti-illegal drugs advocacy, anti-terrorism and anti-insurgency awareness, and the promotion of the P.A.T.R.O.L. Plan 2030. These topics highlighted the Philippine National Police’s commitment to building safe, informed, and resilient communities through proactive public service.

NUP Vanessa Carla Dacayan facilitated discussions on child abuse prevention and anti-bullying awareness, emphasizing the importance of safeguarding children’s rights and fostering a safe, supportive, and child-friendly learning environment. Participants were encouraged to become active partners in preventing and reporting cases of abuse and bullying.

Meanwhile, PMSg Mario Rigos, Patrol PNCO, engaged learners and parents through the distribution of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials on the Anti-Terrorism Campaign in relation to ELCAC, Republic Act No. 11313 (Safe Spaces Act), and the Anti-Rape Law, further strengthening awareness on community safety and legal protection.

To recognize active participation during the lectures and discussions, school supplies were rewarded to learners, serving as motivation and support for their educational journey.

The activity concluded with an energetic group dance led by NUP Dacayan, enthusiastically participated in by pupils, parents, teachers, and police personnel. The activity fostered camaraderie, positivity, and stronger partnerships between the school and the community.

To compensate for the one-hour instructional time utilized for the symposium and ensure that learning competencies were adequately covered, classes were extended in the afternoon in accordance with the school’s instructional recovery measures.

Bañacao Elementary School extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Bangued Municipal Police Station for sharing their time, expertise, and resources in educating and empowering the school community. Through collaborative efforts such as this, learners are better equipped to become responsible, informed, and resilient individuals.

Bañacao ES BSP Members Join Community Clean-Up Drive in Celebration of the 128th Philippine Independence Day

In support of the 128th Philippine Independence Day Celebration, the members of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) of Bañacao Elementary School, under the guidance and leadership of BSP Coordinator Mr. John Paul Banayos, actively participated in a community clean-up drive around Barangay Bañacao.

The activity aimed to promote environmental awareness, community involvement, and civic responsibility among the scouts while honoring the spirit of freedom, unity, and patriotism. Equipped with cleaning tools and a strong sense of volunteerism, the BSP members worked together in cleaning public areas and surroundings within the community.

This meaningful initiative reflects the core values of scouting—service, discipline, teamwork, and love for country. Through activities like this, Bañacao Elementary School continues to nurture responsible and community-oriented learners who are willing to contribute to the betterment of society.

Bañacao ES Officially Opens Classes for School Year 2026–2027

The first day of classes for School Year 2026–2027 at Bañacao Elementary School commenced with a meaningful Flag Raising Ceremony attended by learners, teachers, non-teaching personnel, and parents.

During the program, School Principal Ms. Cristine Escalante Baroña warmly welcomed everyone and expressed her gratitude for their continued support and commitment to education. She encouraged the learners to embrace the new school year with enthusiasm, responsibility, and a positive attitude toward learning.

Ms. Baroña also introduced the dedicated teaching and non-teaching personnel of Bañacao Elementary School, with their assignment per grade level, highlighting their important roles in providing quality education and ensuring a safe, nurturing, and learner-friendly environment.

Bañacao ES Conducts Teachers’ Orientation and School Readiness Activities for SY 2026–2027

In preparation for the opening of classes for School Year 2026–2027, an orientation meeting was successfully conducted by Ms. Cristine Escalante Baroña, the School Principal, to equip teachers with the latest policies, guidelines, and school preparations necessary for effective teaching and learning.

The orientation covered the implementation of the Three-Term School Calendar, Department Order No. 14, s. 2026 on the Guidelines for Learning Continuity During Emergencies, and Department Order No. 15, s. 2026 on the Revised Guidelines on Classroom Assessment, Grading System, Awards, and Recognition for the K to 12 Basic Education Program. Teachers were also oriented on DO 16, s. 2026 -the updated Guidelines in Lesson Planning and Learning Design, as well as important school policies and procedures for the new academic year.

In addition, discussions focused on the preparation of teachers, class programs, and the checking of Opening Blocks Activities of teachers by the School Principal to ensure a smooth and organized start of classes during the first week of school.

A significant highlight of the activity was the sharing of insights and key learnings by participants who attended the Revised K to 12 Curriculum Seminar last May 19-23,2026. They discussed important updates, and strategies that will help enhance classroom instruction and improve learner outcomes.

The orientation served as a valuable platform for collaboration, reflection, and alignment, ensuring that all teachers are well-prepared and committed to providing quality, responsive, and learner-centered education for the incoming school year.
