The ๐š๐ฌ๐ฉ๐ข๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ฃ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ง๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ฌ of the Regional Science High School for Region I (RSHS for Region I) gathered once again for the much-awaited ๐š๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐๐ข๐ง๐  ๐œ๐ž๐ซ๐ž๐ฆ๐จ๐ง๐ฒ of the Journalympics on September 15, 2025.

Following a week of anticipation, students cheered as certificates were conferred to the ๐ญ๐จ๐ฉ ๐ญ๐ก๐ซ๐ž๐ž ๐ฐ๐ข๐ง๐ง๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ in each category, who will proudly ๐ซ๐ž๐ฉ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฌ๐œ๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ in the upcoming Cluster Schools Press Conference (CSPC) 2025.

The awarding served as a culminating highlight of the two-day press conference held on September 5 to 6, which convened determined student-writers under the theme โ€œTruth Above All: Amplifying Voices in the Age of Information.โ€

The ceremony concluded with a collective call to continue honing journalistic skills not just for competitions but also for promoting integrity, awareness, and responsible communication within the school and the community.

To sharpen their skills in critical thinking, writing, reporting, and creativity, the aspiring journalists of the Regional Science High School for Region I (RSHS for Region I) convened for the ๐’๐œ๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ-๐๐š๐ฌ๐ž๐ ๐๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐Ÿ๐ž๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž, also known as ๐‰๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ง๐š๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ข๐œ๐ฌ, on ๐’๐ž๐ฉ๐ญ๐ž๐ฆ๐›๐ž๐ซ ๐Ÿ“โ€“๐Ÿ”, ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“.

Anchored on the theme โ€œ๐“๐ซ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ก ๐€๐›๐จ๐ฏ๐ž ๐€๐ฅ๐ฅ: ๐€๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ข๐Ÿ๐ฒ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐•๐จ๐ข๐œ๐ž๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐€๐ ๐ž ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ˆ๐ง๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ๐ฆ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง,โ€ the event also aimed to promote the ethical values of integrity in campus journalism among the participants from various grade levels.

๐Œ๐ซ. ๐‰๐จ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฉ๐ก ๐”. ๐๐š๐ญ๐š๐ง๐š๐ฎ๐š๐ง, ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐Œ๐š๐ง๐ฎ๐ž๐ฅ ๐‚. ๐™๐š๐œ๐ก๐š๐ซ๐ข๐š๐ฌ, and ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐Œ๐ž๐ฅ ๐Œ. ๐†๐š๐ซ๐œ๐ข๐š stood as the ๐‘๐ž๐ฌ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐œ๐ž ๐’๐ฉ๐ž๐š๐ค๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ for both Filipino and English categories, including Collaborative and Desktop Publishing, Online Publishing, Scriptwriting and TV broadcasting, Scriptwriting and Radio broadcasting for groups; while Feature Writing, Column Writing, Editorial Writing, Feature Writing, Sports Writing, Mobile Journalism, Copyreading and Headline Writing, News Writing, Editorial Cartooning, Photo Journalism, and Sci-Tech Writing for individuals.

Contests for the respective categories further commenced after the orientation, which served as a platform for the students to exhibit their journalistic passion, talent, and ingenuity.

The ๐ญ๐จ๐ฉ ๐Ÿ‘ ๐ฐ๐ข๐ง๐ง๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ per category will officially be announced once the judging is done. Significantly, the results will take part in selecting the contenders for the upcoming ๐‚๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐’๐œ๐ก๐จ๐จ๐ฅ๐ฌ ๐๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐Ÿ๐ž๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“.

Overall, RSHS for Region I continues to manifest its commitment to promoting the importance of journalism through this event, reminding everyone that the true triumph is attained when verified information is dispersed.

To inform, educate, and sometimes challenge society by shedding light on current events, issues, and developments. In the field of academic journalism, the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) functions as an audition ground for prospective youth journalists and writers, providing a venue where skill and rivalry collide. The Regional Science High School for Region I was represented by The RSHS Catalyst, who stood out from the many other competitors and made a lasting impression at the most recent RSPC 2024.
