Congratulations to the awardees of the Best Paper and Best Video Abstract awards at the 2026 Year-End R&D In-House Review!

Held on September 22, 2026, the Year-End R&D In-House Review brought together faculty-researchers from across Aklan State University to share, strengthen, and showcase their research.

The Research and Publication Service celebrates not only this year’s awardees, but also every faculty-researcher who contributed to the University’s continuing pursuit of research and innovation.
Research development is a shared effort. The Research and Publication Service needs its faculty-researchers, just as faculty-researchers need a research management office that enables, supports, and advances their work. Together, we build systems, create opportunities, and foster a research culture that lets ideas grow into meaningful scholarly contributions and impact.

Thank you to all our faculty-researchers for showing up, sharing your work, engaging in the review process, and continuing to move research forward at ASU.

On September 22, 2026, Aklan State University held its University Year-end R&D In-House Review, bringing together faculty-researchers and evaluators for a day of scholarly exchange, constructive feedback, and research development.

The review provided an important space to strengthen research proposals, refine research directions, and explore the potential of completed studies for meaningful translation into practice, innovation, policy, and community impact.

Adding a new dimension to this year's review was the introduction of the Best Video Abstract, with three faculty-researchers from the College of Engineering and Architecture, Kalibo Campus, becoming the first recipients of the award.

More than an evaluation activity, the In-House R&D Review is part of the university's continuing effort to make research stronger, communicate it better, and move promising outputs closer to meaningful impact.

The Research and Publication Service extends its sincere appreciation to our evaluators for sharing their expertise, time, and constructive insights, and to our faculty-researchers for presenting their work and engaging openly with the review process.

Aklan State University (ASU) successfully conducted the seminar-workshop titled "FROM SCOPUS DATA TO STRATEGIC ACTION: Advancing an Adaptive Research & Publication Ecosystem" at ASU Lanai! πŸ“šβœ¨

The occasion was led by Dr. Jeffrey A. Clarin, University President, alongside all three Vice Presidents of the university, the Faculty Regent, RPS Director, College Deans, RPS Chairpersons, and Research Center Heads, whose presence highlighted ASU's unified commitment to research excellence.

The event honored a historic milestone in ASU’s research journey: the 20th anniversary of the university’s first Scopus-indexed publication in 2006, authored by our distinguished Guest of Honor, Dr. Roberto L. Saladar, PhD. Dr. Saladar’s pioneering achievement serves as an inspiring reminder of how visionary research shapes academic excellence. πŸ†πŸ‘

Organized by the Research and Publication Service (RPS), this gathering went beyond celebrationβ€”it served as a vital platform for strategic action. The RPS presented its upcoming plans and roadmap to address disparities in access to resources and support conditions, ensuring that every faculty researcher is empowered to achieve publications that count.

The Research and Publication Service successfully hosted the DOST Advanced Manufacturing Center (DOST-AMCen) Western Visayas Technology Caravan today at the brand-new Aklan Innovators Hub Fabrication Laboratory (FabLab) in ASU Kalibo!

As part of a national initiative to advance additive manufacturing in the region, the event featured live tech demonstrations to inspire new research across university disciplines.

In attendance were key university officials, Research and Publication Service chairpersons, research center heads, and faculty from the BS Information Technology and BS Industrial Technology programs.
