𝗜𝗻 𝗣𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘀 | In line with the Arbor Day and Do-Day activity on August 20, 2026, the Bachelor of Science in Biology students joined the clean-up drive in their assigned area at the Science Building and Microbiology Building.

Armed with brooms, dustpans, trash bags, rugs, and an unwavering sense of responsibility, the students worked together to clear trash, sweep away dust, and tidy up surrounding green spaces, turning the activity into a meaningful display of environmental stewardship and collective responsibility by not only honoring the environment through action but also strengthening camaraderie and shared purpose among future biologists.

Two days of learning, leadership, teamwork, and environmental action! 💚💙

The Biology Students’ Association of Aklan State University, together with selected student leaders from the Forestry program of Banga Campus and Environmental Science program of Ibajay Campus, proudly participated in 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐊𝐀𝐌𝐏𝐄𝐎𝐍: 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐬 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬, held on August 12–13, 2026 at the DENR Regional Training Center, Brgy. Jawili, Tangalan, Aklan, under the guidance of their adviser, Ms. Elize Margareth Sibulan.

The camp featured insightful 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤𝐬 about the environmental issues today. Student leaders also participated in a 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩, where they were guided in conceptualizing meaningful environmental projects that can be implemented in their respective universities and communities.

The learning continued with the 𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 facilitated by the MDRRMO of LGU Tangalan, equipping participants with practical knowledge and skills for responding to emergencies and disasters. 🚨

The first day concluded with the exciting 𝐄𝐜𝐨 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬, where teams put their environmental knowledge, teamwork, and practical skills to the test through dentifying mangroves and seagrasses in the Blue Ecosystem Challenge, Tree Growing and Potting Challenge, and Wildlife Handling and Restraint.

The second day began with a 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐧-𝐔𝐩 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲, followed by a 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲 through PROJECT KAMPEON – PROJECT COCO Year 4, conducted at 𝐕𝐢𝐯𝐨 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥, Vivo, Tangalan, Aklan.
