RB Champs, Writers Win Div Confab

Radio broadcasting team of DANOG (Deepening Awareness on News-Oriented Generation) of Bacan National High School garnered awards in various categories during the Division Schools Press Conference 2026 with the theme "Kabataang may Paninindigan, Isusulat ang Katotohanan" held in Numancia Integrated School, Poblacion, Numancia, Aklan, January 11, 2026.

Marco Angelo Rogan claimed 1st place in the Best Technical Director category, while Hillary Ortega took the 1st place as Best News Presenter. Llance Castro secured 3rd place in the Best News Presenter category, and Aaron Joshua Rogan also brought home the 3rd place award as Best Anchor.

The RB team was proclaimed champion in Radio Scriptwriting and Broadcasting Filipino, and also secured 1st place in the Best Infomercial category.

Individual journalists also shone in the written categories, with Avril Sophia De Mesa hitting 3rd spot in Feature Writing, while Michelle Carpio placed 5th in Sports Writing. Arlyn Navarra got 14th place in Pagsulat ng Pangulong Tudling, and Crystal Joy Saulda pinned 14th place in Pagsulat ng Balitang Pampalakasan.

De Mesa, Carpio and the RB Team will advance to Regional Schools Press Conference in Punta Villa, Iloilo City on February 2026.

Other participants in the said competition were Ellah Jhyn Rico, Alaiza Rezz Jolito, Jasfer Isturis, Shekinah Princess Faith Rimon, Mary Jane Ingalla, Aleah Marie Navarra, Katherine Ashly Laurente, Khate Villanueva, and Dailyn Rasco.

Cristel Ann Orario trained the RB Team while De Mesa and Carpio were coached by Quennie Corona. Navarra was coached by Charles Gil Villanueva and Saulda was coached by Noemi Andrade with Gener Barrera.

The homily highlighted the genuine love that develops when every individual in our home has compassion, understanding, and forgiveness, reflecting Jesus' love for his family, because the best way celebrating Jesus birth is loving our family.

Iginawad kay Quennie G. Corona, Teacher lll, ang parangal bilang BANAAG (BANga Achievers and Action-Oriented GURU) Outstanding Teacher.

Samantala, pinarangalan si Judith Z. Moriente, Punong G**o l, bilang BANAAG Outanstanding School Head at 3rd Quarter District PIRPA Consolidator.

Kinilala rin si Renel D. Rico, Master Teacher l, bilang BANAAG PRAISE Evaluator at District Pagkilaea Evaluator.

Tinanggap naman ni Deby R. Navarra, Teacher lll, ang parangal bilang Outstanding GAD Coordinator.

Kinilala rin si May A. Fernandez, ADAs lll, bilang Outstanding Public Non-Teaching Personnel Level 1.

Sa kabilang banda, sa Special Awards ay nakamit ni Judith Z. Moriente ang BANAAG Queen 2025 at si Rowel Guarino naman ay nasungkit ang Mr. Spotlight Award.

Taunang idinaraos ang paggawad ng parangal sa BANAAG na naglalayong kilalanin ang mga paaralan, g**o at mga kawani ng DepEd sa Distrito ng Banga na nagtataglay ng katangiang naayon sa misyon at bisyon ng kagarawan.

ANG KALINIS-LINISANG PAGLILIHI KAY MARIA

‎Ito ang araw na taun-taon na inaalala ng buong bansa – Disyembre 8, ang Araw ng Kalinis-linisang Paglilihi kay Maria. Isang araw na hindi lamang pambansang pagbabakasyon kundi pati na rin isang mahalagang araw ng pananampalataya na nagbubuklod sa mga Pilipino sa kanilang paggalang sa Ina ng Diyos. Ang Kalinis-linisang Paglilihi ay hindi lamang isang turo ng Katolikong Simbahan kundi isang bahagi na ng ating pagkakakilanlan bilang mga Pilipino, na nagpapakita ng ating malalim na pananampalataya at pagmamahal sa Ina na si Maria.
‎
‎Ang Kalinis-linisang Paglilihi ay isang turo na nagsasabi na si Maria, ang Ina ni Hesukristo, ay isinilang nang walang kasalanang orihinal. Ibig sabihin, bago pa man Siya isinilang sa mundo, binigyan na Siya ng biyaya ng Diyos na maligtas mula sa kahihiyan ng kasalanan na nadala ng lahat ng tao mula kay Adan at Eva.

‎Noong Disyembre 8, 1854, ipinahayag ito bilang opisyal na turo ng pananampalataya ni Papa Pio IX sa kanyang apostolikong liham na tinatawag na Ineffabilis Deus. Sa liham na ito, inihayag ng Papa na ang turo na ito ay itinaguyod na ng Simbahan sa mahabang panahon at ngayon ay ginagawa nang opisyal na turo ng pananampalataya.

‎Kailangan niyang maging malinis at dalisay para tanggapin ang Banal na Espiritu at maging Ina ng Tagapagligtas ng mundo. Ito ang dahilan kung bakit binigyan Siya ng kalinis-linisang paglilihi – para maging angkop na tahanan ng Diyos.
‎
‎Ipinapakita nito na ang biyaya ng Diyos ay mas malakas pa sa kasalanan, at kayang iligtas ang isang tao mula sa simula pa lamang ng kanyang buhay. Ito ay isang paalala na lahat tayo ay pinapahalagahan ng Diyos at binibigyan ng pagkakataong maligtas sa kasalanan.

‎Sa Pilipinas, ang Araw ng Kalinis-linisang Paglilihi ay isang pambansang araw ng pagbabakasyon. Ito ay patunay ng kahalagahan nito sa ating bansa at sa buhay ng mga Pilipino. Sa araw na ito, pinapahinga ang mga paaralan, opisina, at negosyo para payagan ang mga tao na dumalo sa mga gawain sa pananampalataya.

‎Ang mga pagdiriwang sa araw na ito ay kakaiba sa bawat bayan at lungsod. Karaniwang may malalaking prusisyon kung saan inilalabas ang larawan ni Nuestra Señora de la Inmaculada Concepción. Ang mga tao ay nagsasama-sama, nag-aalay ng bulaklak, at nagdarasal habang sinusunod ang prusisyon sa kalsada.
‎
‎ Bukod sa prusisyon, mayroon din namang mga misa na idinadaos sa lahat ng simbahan sa buong bansa. Sa mga misang ito, binabasa ang mga turo tungkol sa Kalinis-linisang Paglilihi at binibigyang-diin ang kahalagahan ni Maria sa buhay ng mga mananampalataya. Maraming mga Pilipino ang nagsisimba ng maaga sa araw na ito para ipahayag ang kanilang pasasalamat at paggalang kay Maria.

‎Mayroon din namang mga kultural na gawain na idinadaos sa araw ng Kalinis-linisang Paglilihi. Sa ilang bayan, mayroong palaro, paligsahan sa awitan, at pagtitipon ng mga pamilya at kaibigan. Ang mga ganitong gawain ay nagpapakita na ang pagdiriwang ay hindi lamang tungkol sa pananampalataya kundi pati na rin sa pagkakaisa ng komunidad.

‎Ang Kalinis-linisang Paglilihi kay Maria ay hindi lamang isang turo ng Katolikong Simbahan kundi isang mahalagang bahagi ng ating kultural at pananampalatayang buhay bilang mga Pilipino. Ito ay nagpapakita ng espesyal na pagpapahalaga ng Diyos kay Maria, ang lakas ng kanyang biyaya, at ang ating malalim na pagmamahal sa Ina na si Maria. Sa tuwing tayo ay nagdiriwang ng Araw ng Kalinis-linisang Paglilihi tuwing Disyembre 8, tayo ay nagpapaalala sa ating sarili ng ating pananampalataya, pagkakaisa, at pagmamahal sa ating Ina na si Maria – ang pinakamagandang halimbawa ng kabutihan at kalinisan sa mundo.

Alumni Reunited at 3rd Grand Alumni Homecoming

Bacan National High School was alive and full of energy as hundreds of Alumni from different batches gathered and celebrated their anticipated 3rd Grand Alumni Homecoming, held at Bacan National High School Covered Court, December 6, 2025.

Preciousa Repolito from batch 2002 was crowned as Ms. BNHS Alumni, while Anna Mae Prestosa of batch 2001 took the First runner-up and Sheila Laine R. Igharas from 2005 was announced as Second runner-up.

Because of endless energy, batch of 2013 awarded as Most Cheerful Group, while the group of 2001 won as First runner-up and the batch of 2006 gave their best to take home the Second runner-up.

Batch of 2007 was named as Best in Booth, followed by Group of 2008 and finished by the batch from 2001.

Because of discipline and coordination, batch from 2001 secured the Best in Parade, while batch of 2013 was recognized as first runner-up and batch from 2012 earned the second runner-up.

The said event was concluded successfully, lively, and leaving an unforgettable memories in everyone's heart.

In a significant stride toward creating a healthier, more child-friendly learning environment, our school proudly completed the 𝙎𝘽𝙈 𝙒𝙞𝙣𝙎 𝙊𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙑𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙙𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 facilitated by the dedicated DepEd Division of Aklan Validators Team today, December 3, 2025. This milestone reflects not only compliance, but a shared commitment to ensuring every learner thrives in a safe, clean, and supportive school community.

From water access and sanitation, to personal hygiene practices, health education, deworming, inclusive facilities for learners with disabilities, and disaster resiliency—each vital component of the DepEd WinS (WASH in Schools) Program was carefully reviewed. Through their technical assistance and guidance, our Validators helped us strengthen systems that directly uplift student well-being and school performance. The school was also guided by the Public Schools District Supervisor, Dr. Lucita P. Recidor Dama de Noche.

This success is a collective triumph. At the forefront is the steadfast leadership of Miss Judith Z. Moriente Ju Dith, School Principal I, whose vision continuously steers the school toward excellence. Working closely with her are Armilyn Amparo Dela Cruz, SBM WinS Coordinator, and Gericar D. Santillan , SBM Coordinator, who ensured that every process, document, and implementation detail aligned with WinS standards, and all the chairman of every WinS area.

But this achievement would not have been possible without the united effort of our entire school community. The teachers and non-teaching personnel, students, parents, and stakeholders all played their part—proving once again that when everyone works together, progress becomes inevitable.

Today, we celebrate not just the successful validation, but the values that brought us here: teamwork, responsibility, and genuine care for our learners. With strengthened systems and renewed commitment, our school is proud and hopeful as we continue building a learning environment worthy of the 3-Star WinS distinction.

Bacan National High School joyfully celebrated Filipino Values Month this November with a series of meaningful and creative activities that highlighted the core values of makadiyos, makatao, makakalikasan, and makabansa. the theme is "Matatag na Puso: Inklusibong Pagpapakatao, Determinadong Bayanihan, Positibong Kinabukasan"

1️⃣ Daily lessons in all subject areas integrating Filipino values
