Today, Aklan State University joins the nation in commemorating the life, courage, and legacy of Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr.

For today’s youth, Ninoy’s legacy remains relevant as a reminder that meaningful change begins with informed choices, responsible citizenship, and the courage to stand for truth and justice.

As we remember Ninoy Aquino, may his legacy inspire the youth to use their knowledge, voices, and opportunities to make a positive difference in their communities and in the nation.

Aklan State University (ASU) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-Aklan met on August 20, 2026, at the Office of the University President to discuss preparations for the Regional Science and Technology Week in Aklan, scheduled for October 1–3, 2026.

The meeting was attended by DOST Provincial Director, Ms. Dyna Rose Gubatanga, June Rey Adorador, Novelyn Anne Factuar, and Antonette U. Donato, who discussed coordination and preparations for the upcoming regional event.

ASU Information Officer II Ms. Lovella Chris L. Palma participated in the RDC VI Capacity Building on Strategic Communication: Media Relations and Social Media Management held on August 18–19, 2026, at the RDC VI Conference Hall, DEPDev VI, Iloilo City.

The training provided participants with updated knowledge and practical approaches in development communication, media relations, and social media management. These areas are relevant to ASU’s information and communication work, particularly in preparing public information materials, engaging with media, and managing digital content.

BANGA, Aklan — August 20, 2026. Aklan State University (ASU) and the Municipality of Banga formalized a usufruct agreement during a signing and groundbreaking ceremony held at the ASU-Banga.

ASU President Dr. Jeffrey A. Clarin delivered the University’s message during the event, which included the signing of the agreement and groundbreaking ceremony.

The partnership is expected to support the development and utilization of facilities aligned with ASU’s institutional needs and public service mandate. It may benefit students, faculty, staff, and community stakeholders through improved facilities and expanded opportunities, while strengthening collaboration between ASU and the local government in advancing education and community development.

👮‍♂️ 𝗣𝗡𝗣 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗔𝗦𝗨–𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮

The Philippine National Police (PNP), through Recruitment and Selection Unit 6, conducted a PNP Career Guidance Seminar today, August 19, 2026, at the CAFES Function Hall, Aklan State University–Banga.

The seminar provided graduating students with essential information on the PNP recruitment program, including its qualifications, requirements, application procedures, and the benefits and opportunities of joining the police service.

The activity also encouraged students to consider public service as a meaningful and honorable career path, while giving them an opportunity to engage with PNP personnel through an open forum.

The program featured a message and PNP presentation by PLtCol Demetrius E. Taypin, Acting Chief of RRSU6, with Dr. Clinton R. Matorre, OIC, GCSO, delivering the welcome and closing remarks.

Through initiatives like this, ASU continues to help its graduating students make informed career decisions and explore opportunities where they can contribute to nation-building.

𝗥𝗦𝗨𝟲 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘆 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗔𝗦𝗨

The Recruitment and Selection Unit 6 (RSU6) of the Philippine National Police paid a courtesy visit to Aklan State University in Banga in preparation for the Career Guidance/Symposium for graduating students on August 19, 2026 at the Office of the President.

The visit aimed to strengthen coordination with the university and promote awareness of the PNP recruitment program.

The delegation was led by PLTCOL Demetrius E. Taypin, PCMS Anthony Chris Franco, PMSg Jenny View Kagaran, PCapt. Rey Jr. Aspero, and PCapt. Abegail Abanero. They werE received by Ms. Junah Belle M. Rosales, Executive Assistant, Dr Clinton R. Matore, OIC of the Guidance and Counselling Services Office.

The PNP Career Guidance Seminar Program proceeded at the CAFES Function Hall after the visit.

This initiative highlights ASU'S commitment to empowering through meaningful career opportunities, informed decision-making, and stronger linkages with government institutions.
