Teachers, the school principal, and the kids all gathered together for a special flag-raising ceremony to kick off ASEAN Month 2026/Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa. It wasn't just your average, everyday Monday morning routine. It felt much bigger than that—a warm, colorful reminder that our students aren't just growing up in their local neighborhoods, but as part of a much larger family of nations across Southeast Asia, all sharing dreams of peace and progress.

It is commendable to see local officials like Hon. Ernesto Largo, Committee Chairperson in Agriculture of Brgy. Poblacion, Banaybanay, Davao Oriental, actively participating in community-driven initiatives. Voluntary service in school gardens not only provides practical support for school programs but also serves as a strong example of community spirit for the students and teaching staff at T. Patricio Elementary School under the leadership of the School Principal, Rahyan D. Pugosa.

This kind of hands-on involvement by a Barangay Kagawad helps bridge the gap between local government and educational institutions, often leading to better support for school infrastructure and nutrition programs.

Thank you Kagawad..

Rooted in Care: T. Patricio Elementary’s New Agricultural Journey

Education is often measured in textbooks, examinations, and classroom hours. However, at T. Patricio Elementary School, a recent event reminded us that some of the most profound lessons are learned not from printed pages, but from the earth itself. The recent visit by Hon. Ernesto Largo, Chairperson of the Barangay Poblacion Agricultural Committee through the collaboration of the S.Y 2026-2027 PTA Officers, brought more than just supplies; it brought a tangible promise of growth, responsibility, and community resilience.

By distributing an assortment of vegetable seeds to the students, Hon. Largo did more than provide a resource for a school garden. He planted a seed of consciousness in the minds of the children—a realization that the food on our tables is the result of patience, effort, and a harmonious relationship with nature. In an era increasingly dominated by digital screens and rapid consumption, this initiative serves as a vital anchor, pulling the students back to the fundamental necessity of agriculture.

Hon. Ernesto Largo’s presence at the school serves as a powerful bridge between local governance and the youth. It highlights that the progress of a barangay is deeply rooted in the capacity of its people to be self-reliant. Through this simple yet meaningful act of giving, the committee has effectively shown that agricultural development is not solely the duty of farmers, but a shared responsibility that begins with the smallest of hands.

As we look toward the future, we hope to see these seeds blossom into a thriving garden. But more importantly, we hope that the values instilled during this event continue to grow within the students of T. Patricio Elementary School. In a world that often feels disconnected, this agricultural journey serves as a beautiful reminder: when we invest in our youth and our soil, we are truly investing in the harvest of a better tomorrow.

# A Celebration of Learning: The 2026 ARAL Summer Program Culmination Activity

June 2, 2026, marked a significant milestone at T. Patricio Elementary School as the academic community gathered to celebrate the successful conclusion of the ARAL Summer Program. The culmination activity was not just a formal closing ceremony; it was a vibrant testament to the hard work, resilience, and joyful learning that defined the entire summer journey for both students and educators alike.

Throughout the program, the ARAL learners dedicated their summer days to strengthening their foundational skills, discovering new academic strengths, and building confidence. On this special graduation day, that hard work bore fruit. The atmosphere inside the school was electric with excitement as the learners eagerly received their well-deserved Certificates of Completion. For these students, the certificates represent far more than pieces of paper—they are tangible proof of their commitment to personal growth and academic advancement, paving a smoother path for their upcoming school year.
Behind every successful student is a team of dedicated educators, and the culmination activity rightfully shined a spotlight on the exceptional faculty who drove the program forward. Teachers Liza Tabañag, Bernard Fil Sumaoy, and Gina Inting were central to the program's success. While Teacher Liza and Teacher Bernard poured their hearts into the daily lessons, the team also demonstrated seamless collaboration when Teacher Gina stepped in as a substitute. Seamlessly filling the gap while Sir Sumaoy attended a vital professional development seminar, Teacher Gina ensured that the learners didn’t miss a beat. The adaptability and shared mission of these three educators exemplified the true spirit of teamwork at T. Patricio Elementary School.

To crown the day’s celebrations, the school principal, Rahyan Donguila Pugosa added a wonderful touch of warmth and hospitality to the event. Recognizing the effort the children had put into their studies, the principal personally treated all the ARAL completers to a delicious serving of spaghetti. The sight of smiling faces, lively chatter, and sauce-stained grins, transforming the academic ceremony into a heartwarming family feast.

As the 2026 ARAL Summer Program draws to an official close, the learners of T. Patricio Elementary School walk away with more than just improved skills. They leave with a renewed love for learning, cherished memories with their peers, and the deep certainty that their school community is fiercely rooting for their success. Equipped with their new certificates and fueled by a great meal, these young learners are undoubtedly ready to conquer the next chapters of their educational journeys.
