LAC Session Strengthens Learning and Development Through Work Action Planning

Banaue NHS conducted a Learning Action Cell (LAC) Session on Learning and Development (L&D), the Application of Education, and the Preparation of the Work Action Plan, reaffirming its commitment to continuous professional development and improved school performance.

The session gathered both teaching and non-teaching personnel to deepen their understanding of the significance of Learning and Development in achieving quality education and organizational excellence. The activity aimed to enhance participants' competencies while promoting collaboration and accountability in implementing school programs and initiatives.

Serving as the resource speaker, the Master Teacher I Ian Jake B.Cumaldi emphasized that Learning and Development is a vital component of professional growth for all school personnel. The discussion highlighted that for teachers, continuous professional learning improves instructional delivery, classroom management, assessment practices, and learner outcomes. For non-teaching personnel, Learning and Development enhances workplace efficiency, strengthens administrative support, and contributes to the effective delivery of school services.

The Master Teacher I also underscored that professional development equips personnel with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to adapt to educational changes and fulfill their respective roles in achieving the goals of the Department of Education.

Meanwhile, the session facilitator provided a comprehensive orientation on the preparation of the Work Action Plan (WAP). Participants were guided through the proper completion of the prescribed template, with detailed explanations of each component, including the objectives, target activities, implementation timeline, persons responsible, required resources, expected outputs, and means of verification.

The facilitator stressed the importance of ensuring that every action plan is aligned with the school's improvement goals, addresses identified learning and development needs, and serves as a practical guide for monitoring the implementation and accomplishment of planned activities.

An open forum followed, allowing participants to seek clarification and exchange ideas regarding the preparation and implementation of their respective Work Action Plans. The interactive discussion encouraged active participation and reinforced the value of collaborative learning within the school community.

The LAC session concluded with participants expressing their commitment to applying the knowledge and skills gained during the activity. Through continuous Learning and Development initiatives and well-crafted Work Action Plans, Banaue NHS remains steadfast in its mission of promoting professional excellence and delivering quality, inclusive, and learner-centered education in accordance with the goals of the Department of Education.

School Heads Collaborate to Strengthen Teaching Practices in Banaue

In the spirit of collaboration and continuous improvement, the secondary school heads of Banaue gathered at Banaue National High School to provide technical assistance and professional support to its teachers.

The activity was led by David Dopiawon of Kinakin National High School, Flavia A. Ahuday of Gohang National High School, and Ruben Acoba of Banaue National High School, together with Master Teacher Ian Jake B. Cumaldi. Through their shared expertise and guidance, the team worked closely with teachers to enhance instructional practices and promote quality education.

This initiative highlights the importance of unity and teamwork among educators in achieving common goals for learners' success.

Mga Mag-aaral ng Banaue National High School, Kinatawan ng Ifugao sa RSPC 2026

Ipinagmamalaki ng Banaue National High School ang dalawang mag-aaral na kumakatawan sa Division of Ifugao sa gaganaping Regional Schools Press Conference 2026 na idinaraos mula Marso 9 hanggang 13, 2026 sa Bangued,Abra.

Ang mga kalahok ay sina Myrna Puguwon, isang mag-aaral sa Grade 12 na sasabak sa kategoryang Pagsulat ng Agham at Teknolohiya, at Gilliene Pablo, Grade 9, na kalahok sa Pagsipi at Pagwawasto ng Ulo ng Balita. Dahil sa kanilang ipinakitang kahusayan sa larangan ng campus journalism, sila ang napiling kumatawan hindi lamang sa kanilang paaralan kundi pati na rin sa Division of Ifugao sa nasabing kompetisyon.

Ang Regional Schools Press Conference ay isang taunang pagtitipon ng mga piling campus journalist mula sa iba’t ibang lalawigan sa rehiyon upang ipakita ang kanilang galing sa pagsulat, pag-edit, at iba pang aspeto ng pamamahayag.

Sinamahan ang dalawang mag-aaral ng kanilang tagapayo na si Ian Jake Be. Cumaldi, na patuloy na gumagabay at sumusuporta sa kanilang paghahanda para sa patimpalak.

Umaasa ang pamunuan ng Banaue National High School at ng Division of Ifugao na magsisilbing inspirasyon sa iba pang kabataan na paunlarin ang kanilang talento sa larangan ng campus journalism.

BNHS, Nagwagi sa DSPC 2026 sa Lagawe, Ifugao

Lumahok ang 17 mag-aaral at 3 coach mula sa Banaue National High School sa Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) 2026 na ginanap sa Lagawe Central School na may temang “Empowering Filipino Youth: Unleashing Potentials in Journalism and Creative Industries in the Era of Artificial Intelligence.”

Nakamit ni Myrna I. Puguwon ang ikatlong puwesto sa Pagsulat ng Agham at Teknolohiya, habang ikatlong puwesto rin sina Cumaldi at Gilliene Pablo sa Pagwawasto ng Sipi at Pag-uulat ng Balita at sasabak sa RSPC sa Abra.
Pumuwesto si Althea Bumaynin sa ikaapat sa Mobile Journalism at ikalima si Xander Dupling sa Sports Writing (English).

Nakakuha rin ng puwesto ang pahayagan ng BNHS sa Layout (ika-4), Sports Page (ika-5), Science and Technology Page (ika-5), Feature Page (ika-4), at News Page (ika-3).

Nasungkit ng Radio Broadcasting (English) ang ikatlong puwesto sa Application!

Ducligan Swimmers Shine at Tam-an Resort

The Ducligan Swimmer team did a great job at the swimming competition held at Tam-an Resort . Our swimmers showed their hard work and teamwork by winning many medals.

For the High School division, the team won 33 gold medals, 12 silver, and 8 bronze. The Elementary swimmers also performed well, earning 7 gold, 14 silver, and 8 bronze medals. Many of the swimmers did their best and even improved their personal times.

We would like to give our sincere thanks to the MLGU headed by our Mayor Donald Don-don Mongolnon , the BLGU, the Principals of the Elementary and High School, the coaches and teachers, the parents,the different stakeholders and the community for their strong support to the Ducligan Swimmers. Their help and encouragement made this success possible.

Congratulations to all our swimmers! Keep up the good work and continue making Ducligan proud. 🏊‍♂️🏅

A History Maker in the School: Grade 8 Student Robbymark Nasdoman Wins Bronze at 2026 Provincial Meet

Robbymark Nasdoman, a Grade 8 student from Banaue, made school history after winning a bronze medal in boxing during the 2026 Provincial Meet held in Kiangan. His achievement marks a proud milestone for the school and the local sports community.

Competing in the Under-17 category (ages 15–16, 44–46 kg), Nasdoman started strong on Day 1 with a victory against Masweng John of Kiangan. He later faced Peddiao Jestony of Aguinaldo in his second bout. Despite a tough match, Nasdoman finished in 3rd place overall, earning the bronze medal.

The young athlete’s success was made possible through the guidance and commitment of Trainer Reinmark Pumihic and Coach Jayson Naganggi, who prepared him for the challenges of provincial-level competition.

The school community celebrates Robbymark Nasdoman as a history maker, whose dedication, discipline, and courage have brought pride and inspiration to fellow students. His achievement reflects the school’s growing presence in sports and its commitment to developing well-rounded learners.

Kimayong .The team together with Mr.Ian Jake B.Cumaldi reviewed learners’ reading performance, discussed challenges, and planned strengthened interventions to support struggling readers. The meeting reaffirmed the school’s commitment to improving literacy outcomes for all students.

BANAUE NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL HOLDS SLAC ON NEW MULTI-YEAR PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR TEACHERS

The faculty of Banaue National High School gathered for a School Learning Action Cell (SLAC) session to discuss the new guidelines on the Multi-Year Performance Management and Evaluation System (PMES) for teachers covering School Years 2025–2026 to 2027–2028.

The session was spearheaded by School Principal Janice Alma P. Kimayong, who led the in-depth orientation on the updated system. She carefully discussed each indicator under the PMES, ensuring that every teacher gained a clear understanding of how their performance will be monitored and evaluated in the coming years.

Principal Kimayong highlighted the importance of aligning teaching practices with the Department of Education’s standards for quality instruction and learner outcomes. The indicators, she explained, are designed not only to measure teacher performance but also to support professional growth, encourage reflective practice, and sustain instructional improvement over the three-year cycle.

The guidelines also emphasize consistency, fairness, and transparency in evaluation, giving teachers a stronger foundation for career advancement and recognition of exemplary practices. Faculty members actively participated by raising questions, sharing insights, and clarifying processes related to the evaluation system.

“This multi-year PMES will serve as our roadmap in strengthening teacher performance and enhancing student learning outcomes. It is not only a tool for evaluation, but also a guide for continuous professional development,” Principal Kimayong noted.

The SLAC concluded with a collective commitment from the faculty to uphold the standards set by the PMES while fostering collaboration and innovation in teaching practices.

Seminar-Workshop on Aamung Chi Uunga: Teen Center – Our Space, Our Responsibility

The school successfully held a seminar-workshop on Aamung Chi Uunga: Teen Center – Our Space, Our Responsibility with a day filled with learning, sharing, and skill-building.

The morning session opened with a prayer led by Janine Tugguin, followed by the singing of a nationalistic song. Master Teacher Ian Jake B. Cumaldi delivered the opening message, setting the tone of responsibility and unity. An overview of the seminar-workshop and a session on life skills and wellness were facilitated by School Nurse Runelita Moog Nasdoman. This was followed by an orientation on the Teen Center and a talk on leadership and peer support for sustainability, delivered by Guidance Counselor-Designate (Junior) Hilda Jaravata.

In the afternoon, students eagerly participated in skill-based group activities. Those interested in music joined the Ukulele lesson with Ms. Mary Padduyao, while others pursued the Guitar lesson with Mrs. Runelita Moog Nasdoman.

The day concluded on a high note, with participants gaining not only new knowledge and skills but also a deeper appreciation for the Teen Center as a shared space of growth, wellness, and responsibility.
