Labni Elementary School Celebrates Pride Month, Promotes Inclusive Learning Environment
In support of the Department of Education's Gender and Development (GAD) Program, Labni Elementary School celebrated Pride Month through a school-based activity that promoted respect, inclusion, equality, and acceptance among all members of the school community.
The celebration aimed to strengthen learners' understanding of the importance of treating everyone with dignity and respect, regardless of gender identity or expression. Through classroom discussions, advocacy activities, and messages of support, learners were encouraged to foster kindness, empathy, and appreciation for diversity while upholding the values of respect and non-discrimination.
One of the highlights of the celebration was a series of dance performances by learners, who confidently showcased their talents and creativity as a form of self-expression. The performances reflected the learners' individuality while promoting confidence, unity, and mutual respect among their peers.
Teachers facilitated age-appropriate learning activities that emphasized the importance of creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive school environment where every learner feels valued, accepted, and empowered to participate in school life. The celebration also reinforced the school's commitment to providing equal learning opportunities for all, consistent with DepEd's Gender and Development initiatives.
The entire school community participated in the observance by displaying messages that promoted unity, mutual respect, and inclusivity. The activity served as a reminder that diversity enriches the school community and that every learner deserves to learn in an environment free from discrimination, bullying, and prejudice.
Through this celebration, Labni Elementary School reaffirmed its commitment to fostering an educational environment where all learners are respected, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential. The Pride Month celebration highlighted the school's dedication to promoting equity, inclusivity, and a culture of compassion in accordance with the goals of DepEd's Gender and Development Program.
