โGeography is the subject which holds the key to our futureโ is a quote by Michael Palin which puzzled the mind of the quizzers. Hence, they have decided to challenge themselves and step into a new realm of knowledge โ Geography.
Four (4) students from MSU โ Balo-i Community High School were chosen to represent the school in the 15๐๐ ๐ป๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฒ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐บ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ held at the University of the Philippines โ Diliman, Quezon City last February 28 to March 1, 2026. These are:

Jasir Alican D. Ali
They were accompanied by their coaches, Abdulrahman A. Basher and Adawiyah M. Aguam.
The two-day event started off with inspiring talks about the vastness of geography, this includes economical geography, biogeography, and more. It is then followed by the Qualifying Round which is in the form of a Written Test. In the afternoon, the participants explored geography through a Field Exam. The Semi-Finals and Final Round happened on the second day of the event.
Even if our representatives did not make it to the finals, they treasured the experience and the learnings they had during the Olympiad. They will use this experience to do better next time. Indeed John Dewey was right when he said we do not learn from experience, we learn from reflecting on experience.

Our utmost gratitude also goes to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, ๐๐ป. ๐ข๐ช๐ถ๐ผ๐ฒ๐ช ๐. ๐๐ช๐ฒ๐ฝ๐ช๐ธ โ ๐๐พ๐ถ๐ป๐ช๐ท๐ฐ, for approving the request of the student participants and coaches to travel and participate in this event. To her special assistants Sir Haroun Al-Rashid Maruhom, Dr. Jasmin Tawantawan and Prof. Nor-ain M. Ampang, who guided us all throughout the process of our paperwork.,maraming salamat po.
To our guidance counselor, Mrs. Norsalam P. Mangonte, thank you for the initiative you always offer for the betterment of the student participants. To our school principal, Prof. Saerah B. Macabago, for endorsing and allowing the students to explore geography.
To the parents of the student participants, thank you for allowing and supporting your children to go beyond their comfort zone. This experience surely taught them a lot.
Last but not the least, shukran ya Allah for the guidance and protection. Alhamdulillah.
This is not the end; this is but the beginning of a new era where MSU โ Balo-i quizzers grow and level up their game. Alhamdulillah for this experience, Bismillah for the upcoming challenges we may face.
