The Quezon Colleges of the North (formerly Quezon Academy) is a private non-sectarian educational institution located in the heart of the coastal town of Ballesteros, Cagayan. The school had its first graduate in Secondary Education and dressmaking Course in 1951. A few years later, the school offered a Complete General Secondary Course, which was granted Government Recognition No.739 on June 1, 1

955, by then-Secretary of Education G. Hernandez Jr., upon the recommendation of Jesus E. Perpiñan, assistant Director of Private Schools. It was revised to Secondary Education Program in 1978, to New Secondary Education Curriculum in 1993, and Restructured Basic Education in 2004. Since its founding, there has been a steady increase in enrolment year after year. The continued growth of the population in the community led the school to expand its school plant in order to meet the needs of the growing student populace. The strong dedication and commitment of the administrators, teachers, and staff, and the active involvement of the parents propelled the development of the school. In 1970, a 6-room building was constructed behind the Main Building which used to house the grade school classrooms. At the seaside annex Campus, another 2-story building consisting of 4 rooms was constructed and presently houses the grade 7 and 8 high school classes of the junior high school. A 4-room building was constructed a few years later to house the grade 9 and 10 junior high school classes and faculty room. In 2016, a 4 room building was built in the Annex Campus for the use of the Senior High School Department and the Library. The main building is now solely used for the Grade 12 senior high school classes, tertiary level, T.L.E. room, computer room, science lab, library, and the administrative office. In addition to the Secondary Course, the school was granted government recognition to offer a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1969 and a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education in 976. On May 22, 1991, a 2-year General Clerical Course and Junior Secretarial Course were granted government recognition on May 22, 1991. The 4-year degree of Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Management and Economics was likewise granted government recognition on March 26, 1996. In spite of serious setbacks and financial constraints, the Quezon Colleges of the North, under the able stewardship of Miss Leoncia A. Alonzo, Directress, continuously strives to attain its goals through sound management, flexible policies, and a supportive, responsive, and competent faculty. In the year 2008, Quezon Colleges of the North, College Department revised the Curricula of Bachelor of Science in Commerce major in Management and Economics as amended by the Commission on Higher Education, Memorandum No. 39 series of 2006 subject to policies, standards, and guideline for Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) in accordance with the Pertinent provisions of R.A. No. 7722 otherwise known as the “Higher Education Act of 1994”, and for the purpose of rationalizing the undergraduate education in Business Administration in the country with the end view of keeping pace with the demands of the local and international business environment to become globally competitive. Now, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing Management and its first graduate was the year 2011 to present. The school had been implementing the K-12 Curriculum through the offering of Junior High School (Grades 7-10) and Senior High School Grades 11-12). The Quezon Colleges of the North was granted a Provisional Permit to operate a Senior High School Program, per Government Permit (R-02) No. 048, s 2015 on June 3, 2015, effective School Year 2016-2017 to offer the Academic Track (Accountancy Business and Management Strand (ABM), Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Strand (STEM), And Humanities and Social Sciences Strand (HUMMS). Pursuing its quest for quality education, the school continuously upgrades its educational program by ensuring that the faculty is equipped with classroom management and instructional skills.
