Philippine Electronics & Computer Institute - Baliuag PECI was established in 1991 as the local equivalent of Mapua Institute of Technology (MIT) here in Baliuag, Bulacan & in the neighboring towns of Bulacan.

The Philippine Electronics & Computer Institute or PECI was established in 1991 as the local equivalent of Mapua Institute of Technology (MIT) here in Baliuag, Bulacan and in the neighboring towns of Bulacan province. During the 1990's PECI was the pioneer in technology-based courses and has developed hundreds of graduates already. It was the first school who received special accreditation from the Department of Science and Technology or DOST and was seconded by Baliuag Colleges (now Baliuag University). Although Baliuag University has already numerous DOST Scholars nowadays, PECI remains the first school in Baliuag, Bulacan who acquired a DOST Scholar.
