he degree of Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with Music as its area of concentration in August 1946. The College gained its recognition for the BSE program in 1947 and for the BSEEd program in 1977. It achieved its Level I Accredited Status in October 1990, Level II Accredited Status in July 1993, Level II Second Re-Accredited Status in December 2000, Level III Accredited status in March 2001 and Level III First Re-accredited Status in November 2006 as approved by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA). In December 03, 2010, the BEEd program of the College was visited by PACUCOA for Level IV Accreditation Status. The program was granted the Level IV Status on December 06, 2011. It is worth noting that the BEEd program of Baliuag University is the first BEEd program granted Level IV Accredited Status in the entire Philippines by PACUCOA and certified by the Federation of Accrediting Agencies of the Philippines (FAAP). At present, both the BEEd and BSEd programs of the College are with Level IV Second Reaccredited Status. In consonance with one of the objectives of the Baliuag University to offer programs or majors that will meet the demands of the present and foreseeable society of the 21st century, the College of Education and Human Development periodically updates, revises, and improves its curricular offerings. The College offered Mathematics and Physical Science as additional majors in the BSE curriculum in 1982 to meet the increasing demands for Mathematics and Science teachers in the Secondary Level. The BEEd and the BSEd curricula of the college have undergone regular revisions to integrate new subjects or majors deemed to be important, relevant, and needed by the community. Information technology and computer education were integrated in both curricula in 1993. Additional majors were added to the Bachelor of Secondary Education curriculum in School Year 1994 –1995. These new majors in the BSEd curriculum were Guidance and Counseling, Home Economics, and Library Science. These new majors were offered by the College to meet the need for secondary school teachers in the Division of Bulacan and the neighboring provinces. In School Year 2005-2006, the BEEd and BSEd curricula were revised in consonance with the competencies required of the Restructured Basic Education Curriculum (RBEC) of the Department of Education. As means of addressing the need for pre-school teachers within its area of service, the College offered BEEd major in Pre-School Education program in School Year 2006-2007. Teacher Education students' pre-service training is further enhanced with experiential learning and community activities. It was recognized in 2008 as a Center of Training (COT) by the Department of Education for its Certificate and In-Service Training Programs. The College of Education and Human Development is also offering Certificate in Teacher Education (CTE) program intended for non-education professionals who are planning to take the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) and pursue their career in teaching. In School Year 1994-1995, the Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Library Science was offered. The first batch of graduation of Library and Information Science (LIS) were eight (8) students who graduated in 1999. The Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Library Science was changed to a new program Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) as mandated by CHED CMO No. 08 s.2005. Presently, the Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLIS) program is a 3-in-1 program wherein units of Education and Information Technology Courses were added. This qualifies the BLIS graduates to take both the PRC board examinations for Librarians and Teachers. The program was granted Level II status by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA). In School Year 2019-2020, the College of Education and Human Development serves as the home for the following academic programs of the University: Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Secondary Education, Bachelor of Library and Information Science, Bachelor of Science in Social Work and Bachelor of Science in Psychology. The Bachelor of Science in Psychology was granted Level II Accredited Status in 2017. It achieved Level III Reaccredited Status by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA) on September 2022. Through the years, the performance of the CEHD graduates in the Licensure examination for professional teachers, library, social work and psychometrician board examinations has consistently exceeded national standards. In the board exam for librarians, the college produced topnotchers and board placers- a 2nd placer in 2018, 3rd placer in 2016, 4th placer in 2007, 6th placer in 2019, and 10th placer in 2000.
