The NU Baliwag Economics Society proudly joined the first-ever Philippine Economic Situationer Case Competition, represented by 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗵 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗗.𝗖. 𝗗𝗶𝘇𝗼𝗻, 𝗔𝗻𝘆𝗮 𝗚𝘄𝘆𝗻𝗲𝘁𝗵 𝗖. 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀, 𝗬𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶 𝗦. 𝗥𝗼𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗲𝘇, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲 𝗣𝘀𝘆𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲 𝗗.𝗚. 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗮. The team presented their policy proposal addressing the planting material security and climate vulnerability of ube (Dioscorea alata). Their three-phase program, the “Purple Gold Initiative,” envisions a Ube Farmers Cooperative that empowers growers with resources and benefits to boost harvests and meet rising global demand.
