GIS is one key strength of ASCOT School of Forestry and Environmental Sciences, employing forestry graduates with basic and advance knowledge in spatial mapping. The establishment of the GEMS Center, originally the SFES GIS Laboratory and Research Center, aims to provide a more dedicated space for Geographic Information System (GIS) research, analysis, and collaboration. This center will facilitate innovation, promote interdisciplinary learning, and support community development through the use of spatial data.

October 23, 2025 โ The Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) continues to expand its frontiers in education, research, and community service with the establishment of five new research and innovation centers, officially approved by the ASCOT Board of Trustees (BOT). This milestone brings the total number of institutional centers to fifteen (15), a remarkable achievement realized under the visionary leadership of ASCOT President Dr. Renato G. Reyes.
The creation of these new centers reinforces ASCOTโs mission to foster innovation rooted in Aurora, empowering its faculty, researchers, and students to explore solutions that merge scientific advancement, cultural identity, and sustainable development.
The five newly approved centers are:

Dr. Reyes emphasized that these Centers are part of ASCOTโs broader vision to position the college as a regional hub for innovation and sustainability, grounded in Auroraโs local wisdom and resources.
