Definition: Cheating, copying, or allowing others to copy during examinations

CORRESPONDING SANCTIONS:
1st Offense: 3-Day Suspension + 5 (Failed Grade)
2nd Offense: 10-Day Suspension + 5 (Failed Grade)
3rd Offense: 15-Day Suspension + 5 (Failed Grade)

Succeeding Violations: Exclusion from the institution once chances have been exceeded.

3RD Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill Participation (NSED)
On September 11, 2026, the School of Information Technology actively participated in the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), demonstrating its commitment to promoting preparedness, safety, and disaster resilience within the campus community.

The activity aimed to enhance the awareness and readiness of students, faculty, and staff in responding appropriately and effectively during earthquake emergencies. Through the drill, participants were able to practice essential safety measures, including the proper response procedures, timely evacuation, and adherence to established emergency protocols.

The activity also reinforced the importance of maintaining a culture of preparedness and safety, ensuring that the entire school community is better equipped to respond to potential earthquake-related emergencies.

Massive congratulations to our very own colleague sir Von Gerald Macose, for taking home the Best Paper Award at the IEEE ISIEA 2026 in Kuala Lumpur!

His award-winning research, the "AVIS Framework," explores how edge AI can create energy-efficient tech to monitor bird interactions in rice fields. It’s an incredible blend of cutting-edge technology and practical agricultural solutions. Even while on study leave, he continues to raise the bar for ASCOT and put our research on the international map.

We are incredibly proud of this amazing feat, Sir Von! Keep inspiring the community.

LOOK | 𝗔𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗧 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗮𝗽𝗲𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝗘𝗘𝗘 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺

Aurora State College of Technology (ASCOT) Associate Professor III Von Gerald Macose earned the Best Paper Award at the 2026 13th IEEE Symposium on Industrial Electronics & Applications (ISIEA 2026) held on July 25–26 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Macose was recognized for his research paper, “AVIS Framework: A Trigger-to-Wake Edge AI Architecture for Energy-Constrained Avian Interaction Intelligence in Rice Agroecosystems,” which he also presented during the international symposium.

The study explores the use of edge artificial intelligence (AI) to develop energy-efficient technology for monitoring and addressing avian interactions in rice agroecosystems, bringing together emerging AI applications and practical agricultural concerns.

Currently on study leave, Macose continues to contribute to ASCOT’s research and scholarly work, with his latest recognition highlighting the College’s growing presence in international academic platforms.

His achievement adds to ASCOT’s growing research and publication efforts and reflects the College’s commitment to supporting scholarly work that responds to real-world challenges. It also highlights the potential of research developed by ASCOT faculty to contribute to technological innovation in agriculture and generate knowledge with relevance to local communities.
