On February 15, 2024, Deped Balaoan District, headed by PSDS Dr. Alejo R. De Sesto, held the 2024 District Science Quest at Balaoan Central School Pavilion.
The event showcased the talents and skills of young scientists who competed in different categories such as quiz bee, science-essay writing-English, science-essay writing-Filipino, and collage making.
Butubut Norte Elementary School emerged as the overall champion in this contest.

On February 7 and 8, 2024, Public Schools District Supervisor, Dr. Alejo R. De Sesto, accompanied and escorted 15 newly installed school administrators of DepEd Balaoan District to their respective new school assignments.They received a warm welcome from the teaching and non-teaching staff, barangay officials, PTA and SGC members and other stakeholders of the schools. Dr. De Sesto delivered a very touching message to each new and outgoing school heads to inspire them to follow what the latter have contributed and to hope that the new school head will also do his/her best to improve the school’s needs.
In addition, he asked the teaching and non-teaching staff as well as the barangay officials, PTA and SGC members and other stakeholders who were present to continue extending their unending and unconditional support to the new school administrators because what matters most is for the common good of all.
In response, the new school heads accepted the challenge and committed to providing quality education and fostering a positive learning environment for the learners as well as help the teaching and non-teaching personnel to grow and to give justice to the achievements and accomplishments of the schools.
Lastly, the school heads also expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the higher officials of the Department of Education, especially to PSDS Dr. Alejo R. De Sesto who spearheaded this installation.

District-based In-service Training for Non-Teaching Personnel
January 24-26, 2024
On January 26, 2024, DepEd Balaoan District, headed by PSDS Dr. Alejo R. De Sesto, has successfully completed the 3-day District-based In-service Training held at the Balaoan Central School Pavilion.
It was a productive day, as all the participating teachers learned new skills and strategies to enhance their teaching methods and deliver quality education to the learners. The participants were privileged to listen to equally brilliant speakers, who shared new ideas, wisdom, experiences, and innovations in education. They learned many new and useful skills from the speakers that will help them improve their teaching and learning outcomes.
Because of these new learnings, the participants left with sharpened skills, eager hearts, motivation, inspiration, and unwavering commitment to be better teachers.
Congratulations Teachers! May you continue to grow and thrive, and to learn new things because learning is a continuous process.
Deped Balaoan District is proud of the amazing speakers from different participating schools who discussed and shared their insights on various topics on the second day of the District Based In-Service Training on January 25, 2024.
