SDO Balanga City Holds Mass, Father Noel Delivers Homily on Life's Trade-Offs

The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Balanga City held a Mass today, 8:00 a.m., at the SDO Conference Room, officiated by Father Noel and attended by the Schools Division Superintendent, Education Program Supervisors, and other division personnel.

In his homily, Father Noel reflected on the concept of "vanity" from the Book of Ecclesiastes, relating it to modern living through the principle of trade-offs. He noted that every decision and action comes with a cost — from technology that eats into sleeping hours to exercise routines that, without balance, can strain the body.

He emphasized the importance of adequate rest as a form of "recharging," drawing a parallel to how electricity powers devices like cellphones. He closed by reminding the congregation that while all emotions are valid, not all are worth holding onto — encouraging personnel to choose what is truly meaningful over fleeting irritation, resentment, or gossip.

SDO Balanga City, MILO Philippines, FPTA Hold Coordination Meeting for MILO Champ Run

The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Balanga City, led by School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD) Chief Dr. Maila M. Capulong, held a coordination meeting with MILO Philippines and the Federation of Parents-Teachers Associations (FPTA) today, September 23, 2026, 1:00 p.m., at the SDO Balanga City Conference Room, to discuss plans for the MILO Champ Run.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Roland Serrano, representing MILO Philippines; Mr. Anthony C. Sanchez, President of FPTA; Atty. Jason Visitacion; Mr. Salvador Isip, Education Program Supervisor for MAPEH; Ms. Charito Tuazon and Ms. Lucy Villarez of the Social Mobilization (SocMob) Unit; and other members of FPTA.

During the session, MILO Philippines presented an overview of the MILO Champ Run, described as a child-friendly running event designed as a scalable recruitment platform that brings together children, schools, parents, teachers, and communities into the MILO Active Pilipinas ecosystem through a safe, accessible, lower-cost, and easier-to-mount race experience.

The coordination meeting aims to lay the groundwork for a potential partnership between SDO Balanga City, MILO Philippines, and FPTA in bringing the MILO Champ Run to the division, in support of promoting physical fitness and active lifestyles among learners and the community.

SDO Balanga City Holds Project LAUNCHPAD Orientation for New School Counselor Associates

The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Balanga City conducted Project LAUNCHPAD, an orientation and professional guidance activity for newly hired Counselor Associates, today, September 23, 2026 (Wednesday), 8:30 a.m., at the SDO Balanga City Conference Room, pursuant to a memorandum signed by Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Roland M. Fronda.

The session featured a discussion on the duties and responsibilities of School Counselor Associates led by Glenda D. Avorque, Administrative Officer (HRMO).

The activity aimed to formally welcome the new employees into the organization and facilitate their seamless integration into the culture, policies, and operations of SDO Balanga City. It also sought to help the newly hired personnel understand their job responsibilities, performance expectations, and how their roles align with DepEd's vision, mission, and core values.

The orientation covered the basics of employment, DepEd structure, mandates, policies, rules, and regulations, and provided new employees with ongoing professional advice, guidance, and support from senior leaders, along with insights on professional development and career progression.

SGOD Holds Regular Monthly Meeting

The School Governance and Operations Division (SGOD) of the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Balanga City conducted its Regular Monthly Meeting today, September 23, 2026 (Wednesday), 8:30 a.m., at the SDO Balanga New Building, 3rd Floor, led by SGOD Chief Maila M. Capulong, DPA.

The meeting, attended by all SGOD personnel, covered updates from the SGOD Chief, division-wide directives and recent issuances, important concerns requiring SGOD action, and upcoming activities and deadlines.

Personnel presented reports and updates relative to their respective units and functions, in line with the division's continuing efforts to strengthen coordination and ensure the smooth implementation of SGOD programs and initiatives.

SDO Balanga City underscores sustainability, innovation, and God-centered leadership during Flag Ceremony

BALANGA CITY, Bataan — Schools Division Superintendent, Dr. Roland M. Fronda encouraged officials and personnel of the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Balanga City to embrace sustainability, innovation, and God-centered leadership during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony held early this morning. He also provided updates on upcoming division activities, including capacity-building initiatives, scheduled meetings, the review of the Performance Governance System (PGS), and key engagements lined up through November.

Drawing inspiration from Scripture, Dr. Fronda emphasized that true wisdom begins with reverence for God. Quoting the Bible, he reminded everyone that "the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom," stressing that sound judgment and wise decision-making come from placing God at the center of one's life and work. He likewise highlighted the division's sound financial management, emphasizing that responsible stewardship of its resources should always support long-term organizational sustainability.

In his message, Dr. Fronda underscored sustainability as a guiding principle in governance and daily operations, encouraging personnel to make informed decisions based on available resources while ensuring their long-term benefit. He urged everyone to practice the 3Rs—Regenerate, Reuse, and Recycle, embrace innovation, and maximize programs and resources to ensure lasting impact.

SDO Balanga City Joins 2026 International Coastal Cleanup Day

The Schools Division Office (SDO) of Balanga City, through Division Memorandum No. 463, s. 2026 signed by Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Roland M. Fronda, EdD, CESO V, took part in the 2026 International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Day today, September 19, 2026 (Saturday), at the Balanga Wetland and Nature Park, joining the City Government of Balanga's initiative themed "Clean Seas for Resilient Communities."

The division was represented by Ms. Princess Diane Supan, Project Development Officer (PDO), alongside teachers, school heads, and learners from public schools across the city, including Bataan National High School–Junior High School's Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O), M. Delos Reyes Memorial Elementary School led by Principal III Mrs. Annaliza D. Tuazon, and various Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts troops, Learner-Led Organizations, and Supreme Elementary Learner Government (SELG) members.

The activity, led by the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CityENRO), began with assembly and registration at the M. Delos Reyes Memorial Elementary School Auditorium, followed by a parade and road cleaning from Pto. Rivas Itaas–Tortugas to the Balanga Wetland and Nature Park, where the main coastal clean-up drive took place.

Participating schools and learners collected and documented waste using the official ICC data forms, with organizers encouraging participants to share their involvement on social media using the hashtag .

The activity reflected the strong collaboration between SDO Balanga City, the local government, and the youth sector in promoting environmental protection and community resilience.
