Today, 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 21, marks the 43𝐫𝐝 Death Anniversary of former 𝐒𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐨 ‘𝐍𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐲’ 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐉𝐫.

On this day, we honor a life that stood firmly for democracy, justice, and the Filipino people. Ninoy refused to be shaken in his conviction that democracy, justice and human dignity were worth protecting and fighting for–even if it meant his life.

“𝑪𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒆” was a reminder to us that patriotism is not just a matter of words, but of deeds, and that the best deeds are those taken for the good. In remembrance of his sacrifice, let us recommit ourselves to defend what he sacrificed for, tell the truth to power, and construct a Philippines where all citizens have the right to live with dignity and purpose. Ninoy's legacy is not only in our memory but in the actions to preserve democracy and to serve the people.

Through our 𝗙𝗥𝗘𝗘 𝗟𝗢𝗔𝗗 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔𝗟𝗟 initiative, we are extending free mobile load to anyone in need—not only to FamELLA , but to anyone who may benefit from a little help during this difficult time.

We know that a small amount of load may seem simple, but during challenging situations, it can help someone contact their family, check important announcements, receive emergency information, or reach out for assistance.

This initiative is our way of reminding everyone that help does not always have to be big to be meaningful. Sometimes, a small act of kindness can provide someone with the connection they need at the right moment.

If you or someone you know needs help staying connected, please don’t hesitate to reach out and share this initiative with others who may need it. Let’s help this message reach those who need it most.

We may be facing the same storm in different ways, but we can always choose to face it with compassion and togetherness.

Araw-araw na hamon sa mga g**o kung paano itatawid ang talakayan sa isang silid na animong sardinas ang mga mag-aaral. Kung paano matutugunan ang pangangailangan sa kakulangan ng kagamitan, kung paano pa papasanin ang tambak na gawain, at mga suliraning lampas na sa apat na sulok ng paaralan. Datapwat ganito, patuloy silang humaharap sa mga mag-aaral dala-dala ang pagmamahal, bitbit ang sinumpaan nilang tungkulin na magbahagi at magturo hindi lamang ng kaalaman, bagkus ng magandang asal, respeto, disiplina, at tamang pagpapahalaga sa mga kabataan.

Ngunit, sa kabila ng pagpapagal na ito, mabigat na paratang pa ang naging sukli—paninisi. Sa isang bansang mahirap magturo ng tama, ganon na lang kadali para sa pamahalaan na magturo ng masisi sa isang pagkakamali.

Walang g**o ang magtuturo sa kanyang mga mag-aaral na gumawa ng mali, maging walang modo, at huwag igalang ang kapwa lalong higit na ang mga nakatatanda. Isang malaking sampal sa hanay ng mga g**o ang naging pahayag ni Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro ang paratang ng pagiging pasimuno ng kawalan ng moralidad ng mga mag-aaral, kaugnay ng naganap na insidente ng pamamaril sa Ateneo de Zamboanga University sa Zamboanga City nitong ika-18 ng Agosto.

Maaari tayong pumuna ng mali at magpanagot ng mga nagkamali, ngunit dapat malinaw, may batayan, at may konteksto ang bawat bibitawan nating paratang—lalong higit sa mga tunay na nagmamahal sa bansa at sa mga nagtitiis na lang sa sistema. Dito nabigo si USEC Claire, madaling magbigay ng salita, ngunit kaya ba niyang panindigan ang bigat ng pananagutan na dala ng mga salitang dumulas na sa kanyang dila?

Kung ugat ang hinahanap ng pamahalaan, bantad dapat sa kanila ang pagkakaiba nito sa sanga lamang dahil hindi na lang moralidad ang nakataya sa bawat salitang ating bibitawan sa hamong kinakaharap ng sektor ng edukasyon, bagkus pananagutan. Sapagkat magkaiba ang naghahain at naghahanap ng konkretong solusyon sa usaping naghahanap lamang ng masisisi sa isang problemang sangkot ang buong sistema—mula sa mga ugat hanggang bunga.

Ang moralidad ay hindi lamang produkto ng isang institusyon, ito ay bunga ng mga salik na nagmumula sa lipunang kanyang kinamulatan. Kaya bago natin idiin ang mga g**o na pasimuno ng kawalan ng moralidad, dapat din nating tanungin ang ating mga sarili, lalong higit na ang pamahalaan, kung sapat na ba ang ginagawa nilang aksyon para tugunan ang hamong ito.

Dahil sa mga ganitong uri ng usapin, hindi na tayo para magsisihan pa. Kung tunay ngang ang pamahalaan ay determinadong mahanap ang ugat ng mga suliranin, huwag lamang tayong tumuon sa pagputol ng sanga at sabihing nalutas na ang puno.
