The 4th ETSOPRENEURS 2026 event, held on March 25-26, 2026, at the CTEC Ground, BPSU Main Campus, brought together local communities, businesses, and educational institutions for a dynamic showcase of innovation and entrepreneurship. With the theme “Innovating Communities, Empowering Lives for a Sustainable Future”, the event featured over 30 exhibitors from various sectors, including agriculture, food production, crafts, and local businesses.
Day 1 highlighted the Product Exhibit, where a variety of locally produced goods were displayed, including fresh vegetables, food products, garments, and arts and crafts. Among the featured exhibitors were 1Bataan Farms, Sustainable Mango Production Farms, and the Samahan ng Taong may Kapansanan sa Bataan. Businesses such as Ruthy’s Food Products and Terio’s Food Products also contributed to the exhibit, showcasing the entrepreneurial spirit of the community.
The event was officially opened with remarks from Prof. Reynan P. Calderon, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Technology Transfer, followed by Dr. Bernadeth B. Gabor, Director of the Extension and Training Services Office (ETSO), who recognized the dedication of the event organizers. A ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the formal launch of the exhibit, setting a vibrant tone for the day.
Day 2 featured a series of hands-on sessions and seminars. Dr. Edmond M. Camingal led a Papaya Hand Soap Making session, and Dr. Rowena B. Valerio conducted an Araro Cookies Making workshop. Additional seminars focused on food safety practices and sanitation codes, with contributions from Prof. Alvin James V. Gonzales and Ms. Reina De Leon-Elayda. These sessions provided participants with practical skills in food handling and safety.
Dr. Gabor concluded the event with a speech expressing gratitude to the participants, exhibitors, and guests for their contributions. The event was also covered by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), amplifying its impact and message of community empowerment.
The 4th ETSOPRENEURS event successfully highlighted the role of BPSU in fostering innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development, showcasing the power of community-driven entrepreneurship.

On March 30, 2026, women from Barangay Nagwaling, Pilar participated in a Food Processing Training aimed at providing sustainable livelihood skills. The event, led by Dr. Bernadeth B. Gabor and assisted by Prof. Janielle M. Buenaventura, Mr. John Robert S. Garcia, and Ms. Jeanylen P. Calago, was held in Nagwaling, Pilar.
The session tackled the process of Food Processing. Dr. Gabor guided participants through the tools, equipment, and ingredients essential for food processing, emphasizing hygiene, sanitation, and safety practices.
The trainer demonstrated the preparation of various products, including pickled ampalaya, camote chips, banana chips, kimchi, and spicy dilis. Following the demonstration, participants engaged in hands-on activities to apply the techniques and enhance their skills.
The training concluded with a discussion on basic costing and marketing strategies, helping participants understand pricing and potential markets for their products. The event showcased the potential of food processing as a viable and sustainable livelihood for the women in the community.

Policewomen of Balanga City, Bataan, joined a Meat Processing training on March 25, 2026, at Covered Court Camp PFC Cirilo S. Tolentino, Balanga City, Bataan, aimed at strengthening livelihood skills and opportunities.
The participants gained hands-on training led by Prof Benedict Bal D. Padilla with assistance from Ms. Raquel N. Bawar. The training covered preparation of pork siomai, tocino, and skinless longanisa, along with food safety practices.
Furthermore, basic costing and marketing strategies were also discussed to gain insights into how to price and present the products for potential livelihood.

On March 25, 2026, women participants gathered at the Balanga City Hall's Audio-Visual Room for a community-based training on dishwashing liquid soap and sweets making, spearheaded by BPSU ETSO. The session aimed to equip participants with practical skills for income generation.
Dr. Bernadeth B. Gabor, assisted by Mr. John Robert S. Garcia, led the sweets-making segment, demonstrating the preparation of polvoron and pastillas. Participants then practiced making the sweets themselves.
The second part of the training focused on dishwashing liquid soap making, with Mr. Garcia and Ms. Melissa M. Villena guiding participants through the process. Safety and proper handling of materials were emphasized.
The event concluded with a presentation of the participants' products, highlighting the potential of both skills as income-generating opportunities.

Coconut farmers in Barangay Parang, Bagac, Bataan, took a significant step toward livelihood training as they participated in a specialized training on buko pie and egg pie making held at the BSCFPAI Office, Dimaranan Street, Bagac, Bataan, on March 2, 2026.
The training aimed to equip local coconut farmers with practical skills that could help generate additional income by transforming produce into marketable food products. The activity
was facilitated by the trainer, Mr. John Robert S. Garcia, with the assistance of Prof. Janielle M. Buenaventura and Ms. Racquel N. Bawar.
The program commenced with an opening prayer led by one of the participating coconut farmers, followed by the formal introduction of the trainer and assistants, who would guide the participants throughout the training.
In his discussion, Mr. Garcia provided a comprehensive overview of the tools, equipment, and ingredients necessary for preparing buko pie and egg pie. He emphasized the importance of maintaining proper hygiene, sanitation, and safety practices in food preparation to ensure the production of high-quality and safe baked goods. Participants were also taught the significance of accurate measurement of ingredients and proper mixing techniques, both of
which are essential in achieving the desired texture and flavor.
A detailed, step-by-step demonstration followed. Mr. Garcia demonstrated the entire process of making buko pie and egg pie. From preparing the crust and cooking the fillings to baking and proper cooling, each procedure was clearly explained to ensure understanding among the participants.
The training then transitioned into a hands-on activity, allowing the coconut farmers to apply what they had learned. Under the close supervision of the trainer and assistants, participants prepared their own versions of the products, gaining firsthand experience.
The session concluded with the presentation of the finished baked products, reflecting the participants’ learning and effort throughout the training. The activity highlighted not only the development of technical skills but also the potential of buko pie and egg pie production as a sustainable supplementary livelihood for coconut farmers.
Through this training, participants would be empowered to explore small-scale food enterprises, ultimately contributing to improved income opportunities and community development in the area.

Members of the ANCOP Bani Community participated in a Rugs Making Training designed to provide them with practical skills for livelihood development and income generation. Held at Cataning, Balanga City, Bataan, on February 28, 2026.
The training was part of ongoing community extension efforts to empower residents through sustainable and creative livelihood initiatives. The activity was facilitated by Dr. Bernadeth B. Gabor, Dr. Zenaida H. Baino, and Dr. Edmond M. Camingal, with assistance from JO3 Lexalene L. Almario and JO1 Arienne A. Gullod.
The program commenced with an opening prayer led by Dr. Baino, followed by a welcome message from Dr. Gabor, Director of the Extension and Training Services Office and proponent and project leader of the BPSU-ANCOP Bani Project. In her message, Dr. Gabor
acknowledged the presence of the trainers and participants and emphasized the importance of skills training in fostering community development and self-sufficiency.
The trainers were then formally introduced, after which the session proceeded with a discussion on the materials, tools, and fundamental techniques used in rug making. Participants were oriented on proper procedures in cutting, arranging, and weaving materials, as well as practical tips to ensure the durability and quality of the finished products.
A comprehensive step-by-step demonstration followed, allowing participants to observe the rug-making process in detail. The trainers carefully explained each stage, ensuring that the techniques were clearly understood.
Participants were then given the opportunity to apply their learning through a hands-on activity. With the guidance and supervision of the trainers and facilitators, they created their own rugs, gaining practical experience and enhancing their craftsmanship.
The training concluded with the presentation of the finished rugs, showcasing the participants’ outputs and newly acquired skills. The activity highlighted the potential of rug making as an alternative source of livelihood for the ANCOP Bani Community.
