A learning disability is a neurological condition which affects the brain's ability to send, receive, and process information. A child with a learning disability may have difficulties in reading, writing, speaking, listening, understanding mathematical concepts, and with general comprehension. Learning disabilities include a group of disorders such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia and dysgraphia.

“You don’t have any idea how powerful you are and what you can achieve. You literally cannot give in to your fear. You literally have got to walk over it, step on it’s face and keep moving toward where you want to go and eventually, if I can get there, there’s no reason you can’t get there.”
~Henry Winkler.

"Every Child has a different learning style and pace. Each child is unique, not only capable of learning but also capable of successding"
~ Robert John Meehan

Don't let disability define a person. There is more to the individual with a disability than you might think or see. Don't think about what one can't do but about what is possible. People with a variety of abilities make our community and our world stronger. Give yourself and others a chance.

Chronic Illness- A chronic condition is a human health condition or disease that is persistent or otherwise long-lasting in its effects or a disease that comes with time.

Advice
• finding information – this can help if you feel helpless or out of control

• emotional support from others – particularly family and friends, this can be a source of great help

• joining a well facilitated support group

• setting concrete, short-term goals – to restore certainty, power and control

• Thinking about possible outcomes – discussing them with the doctor can help you to face them before they become a reality.

“You either get bitter or you get better. It’s that simple. You either take what has been dealt to you and allow it to make you a better person, or you allow it to tear you down. The choice does not belong to fate, it belongs to you.” – Josh Shipp
