𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐘 𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐔𝐋 𝐃𝐀𝐘! 🇰🇷✨

Today we celebrate not just an alphabet, but one of the most beautiful gifts in history. On October 9, 1446, King Sejong the Great created Hangeul so that everyone — not just the rich and powerful — could read, write, and express themselves.

As someone who fell in love with Korean culture through dramas, music, and language, I truly appreciate how Hangeul made it possible for me to connect deeper. From the first time I learned to write 가나다 to now being able to read my favorite lyrics and understand the meaning behind every word, it feels so special. Hangeul is so scientific, so artistic, and so full of heart.

It's more than just letters. It's history, love, and identity. Forever grateful for these 24 letters that brought Korea closer to the world, and closer to us.

Experience one of Korea's most beloved traditional holidays and find out the customs which bring families, cherished memories and Korean heritage together. ✨

🏠 Family Reunion & Homecoming
Families go back to their homes and come together with their loved ones, which makes Chuseok a significant time for families to be together.

🕯️ Charye
It is a conventional ceremony held in memory of one's ancestors, at which families prepare food offerings and show their respect to them.

🌿 Seongmyo & Beolcho
Families go to the graves of their ancestors and clear the area around them as a way of showing respect and remembering the people who came before.

🥮 Songpyeon
Find the famous rice cakes shaped like a half-moon, which are traditionally made and eaten together with family during Chuseok.

👘 Hanbok
Traditional Korean clothing which some families wear at ceremonies, gatherings, photo sessions, and cultural celebrations.

🎲 Yutnori
Try out this traditional Korean board game, which is played by families and friends during the holidays.

🌕 Ganggangsullae
Watch or take part in the traditional circle dance involving singing and dancing together, a practice historically linked with Chuseok and the full moon.

🎁 Chuseok Gift-Giving
Look at the custom of giving gifts to members of one's family, to friends, to colleagues, and to loved ones as a way of showing appreciation.

🖌️ Traditional Paper Crafts & Calligraphy
Learn about Korea's traditional art forms by taking part in hanji crafts and calligraphy, which are commonly included in Chuseok cultural experiences.

From remembering our ancestors and attending family gatherings down to enjoying songpyeon, playing traditional games, exchanging gifts, engaging in crafts, and dancing, Chuseok provides a glimpse into the traditions which still shape Korean culture.
