Happy Gwangbokjeol! πŸ‡°πŸ‡·βœ¨

Today, on August 15th, we commemorate National Liberation Day of Korea, celebrating the historic restoration of Korean independence in 1945 and the establishment of the Republic of Korea in 1948.

Let us honor the resilience, sacrifices, and unwavering spirit of those who fought for freedom and paved the way for the vibrant nation we cherish today.

πŸ’‘ Did You Know?
The name Gwangbokjeol (κ΄‘λ³΅μ ˆ) literally translates to "Restoration of Light Day," symbolizing the moment the light of freedom was restored to Korea after 35 years of Japanese colonial rule (1910–1945).

It holds a dual historical significance because the government of the Republic of Korea was officially established exactly three years later on the very same day, August 15, 1948. As one of South Korea's official national holidays (Gukgyeongil), it is a day traditionally marked by proudly displaying the national flag, the Taegeukgi, outside homes and streets.

Wishing everyone a meaningful and proud Liberation Day!

What day is it today? It’s May 15! πŸŽ‰

The BPSU Filipino-Korean Cultural Organization (FilKCO) celebrates Korea’s Teacher’s Day, a special occasion dedicated to honoring the incredible people who devote their lives to teaching and guiding others.

To FilKCO’s adviser, Sir Marlon, happy Teacher’s Day! Your support and dedicationβ€”not only in academics but also in our organizationβ€”are truly exceptional.

In Korea, Teacher’s Day is often celebrated with carnations, heartfelt letters, and sincere gratitude from students. But no matter where you are in the world, today is a beautiful opportunity to thank a teacher who has made a difference in your life. A simple message, shared memory, or gesture of appreciation can mean more than you know.

Happy Teacher’s Day to all seonsaengnims ❀️

Little hearts, big voices πŸ‡°πŸ‡·πŸŽˆ

Every May 5, Children’s Day turns Korea into a playground of joy but behind the balloons and laughter is a powerful history.

Born in the 1920s, this day started as a movement to protect children’s rights, nurture their dreams, and remind society that children deserve respect, care, and a voice of their own.

Because celebrating children isn’t just about fun it’s about shaping a better tomorrow πŸ’«
