At a time when everyone is struggling, no one should have to go through it alone. Some families are currently facing significant challenges as a result of the ongoing heavy rains, floods, and severe weather conditions. We are concerned about seeing those affected by the habagat in vulnerable situations. As a result, we cannot simply stand by and watch them suffer without intervening.
With heavy hearts, the ๐ฉ๐ท๐บ๐ผ-๐ซ๐ถ๐บ๐ป ๐ถ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐บ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ is organizing an ๐๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐ง๐๐ฒ ๐๐จ๐ง๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฏ๐. The funds raised will be donated to families affected by the rains and used to organize SMS broadcasts to save lives, issue important warnings, and communicate with our scholars in affected areas.

As we continue to face the impact of Hanging Habagat, the BPSU-DOST Organization of Scholars (BPSU-DOS) reminds everyone to stay alert, stay informed, and stay safe.
Now more than ever, preparedness can save lives. Make sure your households are stocked with clean water, food, medicine, and power sources. Remain attentive to the latest announcements from your local government units.
To further help you respond quickly in times of distress, weโve compiled the official emergency hotlines per municipality in Bataan. These numbers can connect you to urgent assistance for rescue, health, safety, or relief concerns.
โ ๏ธ Please be reminded that prank calls to emergency hotlines are strictly prohibited and punishable by law. These lines must remain open for real emergencies.

Care, Save, Immortalize : Earth recognizes and appreciates the efforts of everyone who contributed to this yearโs Gawad Batang Bayani (GBB), including the university offices and personnel who continuously support student organizations in their projects and activities. We believe that their work deserves acknowledgment and appreciation.
However, as a student organization that was not invited to this yearโs GBB, we also believe that it is important to express our concern regarding the exclusion of several student organizations from a ceremony intended to recognize student leadership.
For almost 17 years, CSI: Earth has remained committed to serving the university community through environmental advocacy, initiatives, and activities that extend beyond the campus. Like many student organizations, we have continued this work not because we expect awards or recognition, but because we believe in the purpose behind our service.
Still, recognition holds meaning. Gawad Batang Bayani is not simply about receiving an award. For student leaders, it is an opportunity to have their time, sacrifices, and contributions acknowledged. For graduating student leaders especially, it may be one of their final opportunities to be recognized for the years they dedicated to serving their organizations and community.
As they call it, Batang Bayani. A Batang Bayani is not defined by an award, but by the service and their dedication for the students and community. Not everyone may be awarded, but every Batang Bayani deserves to be recognized. If the very students who spent the year serving are the ones being left out, then what is Gawad Batang Bayani without them?
Reflecting on the importance of recognition, one of our student leaders shared:
โThe award may only last for a night, but โyung years of service behind it donโt.
Sa mga tulad nating student leader, โyung recognition kasi isnโt the destination ehโฆitโs simply that moment when someone stops and says, โWe saw you serve.โ And sometimes, for someone who has spent years serving quietly, being seen is already more than enough.
We, student leaders, deserve better. Our service should never be treated as an afterthought in a celebration created for us.โ
Our concern is, ultimately, about who should have been prioritized for recognition. We do not believe that recognizing administrative and non-teaching offices is inherently wrong. We acknowledge their important role in supporting student organizations, and we are genuinely grateful for the assistance they provide. However, if limitations in venue, capacity, or resources required some student organizations to be excluded, it is reasonable to ask why the limited space and time were not first prioritized for the students whom GBB was created to honor.
We hope that the incoming student leadership will take this matter into consideration and work toward a clearer and more inclusive system for future GBB ceremonies, where every student organization that has meaningfully contributed to the university community is given a fair opportunity to be recognized.
If we donโt speak now, there is no guarantee that student leaders wonโt be excluded anymore from opportunities that are supposedly meant to recognize them.
CSI: Earth will continue to serve regardless of recognition. But we also believe that those who dedicate their time and effort to serving the community deserve to know that their work has not gone unseen.
